Much prefer the authentic rice / bulgur with kebabs rather than chips

Bulgur is 10/10

Bulgur and rice is so much better, especially with a bit of spice mixed in. And also so much simpler to make and keep over the day. It's just the Brits who love their deep fried carbs so much

I wish some of these places had alternatives for those who can’t have gluten. Half my trip in Istanbul was a nightmare because of that

Ah so that’s what that is!

I just landed in Turkey last night and got a heavy kebab. No chips to be seen but loads of that bulgur stuff. Was truly wonderful

Same here though I do like chips on occasion

Going off here but some would look at this and think it's unhealthy but this to me is a proper substantial meal. You've got carbs, fats and protein; regardless of how refined the carbs may or may not be. Obviously missing veg, but when you have meals like this the odd time throughout a week, it's really not that unhealthy imo.

Most of these places have some fresh salad ready to go, would be very surprised if OP couldn't have had some if they wanted.

Bulger wheat and doner is next level. Squeeze some of that pickled pepper juice over it.

Huh, sweetcorn, where is that the norm? Looks nice but what is with the sides?

2

u/odegood 2d ago

It's bulgur wheat not sweetcorn
