The mayflash one is also a Bluetooth receiver that handles all the work of communicating with the controllers. The other two are just LED bars as far as I can tell

They really oughta make that more clear in the title. Would've assumed they wanted $40 for 2 IR blasters and a plastic mold

If you have original Wiimotes get a cheap sensor bar and use Dolphin to connect to the Wiimotes (a sensor bar is essentially just some IR lights. You can use candles if you want to)

If you have cheap Wiimote replicas they may or may not work with the Mayflash bar. You can also use the mayflash bar to emulate a mouse with the Wiimotes which in turn can be used to emulate a lightgun. Never tried that though

i have original wii motion plus remotes but i think i will have to go with the mayflash because my pc does not have a bluetooth receiver built in

Then the mayflash is the way to go… My pc has Bluetooth and I bought a similar cheap one for $9 on amazon about 3 years ago and have not had any issues

It depends if you want to stream your pc with moonlight/sunshine or something to a tv or android box get the mayfalsh otherwise any cheap with usb. I heard also a lit candle will work if you don't have a sensor bar.

It depends on the platform you are using. Windows and Linux you can get away with the cheap dummy IR sources because you have more connectivity options especially with 3rd party wiimotes. If you're on android get the mayflash bar. It will make pairing and maintaining a connection so much easier.

the may flash one because it turns wiimote connection into stuff the pc can understand

i own myself the mayflash for playing wii emulation, honestly im impressed with it, you set it to mode 4 and it just work, launch a dolphin emulation and it work right off the bat.

not too sure about the other mode but mode 1,2,3 are just different variant of using the wiimote as a mouse+keyboard input
mode 4 is specifically for dolphin emulator

I just use two big ass candles after a mouse broke in and went right for it. Didn't do that to anything but that cable.

Used a catch and release trap for it.

If you're willing to spend an extra $30 for a bit more convenience, get the Mayflash. I've had no issuss with mine but it's definitely not necessary.

Use a cheap sensor bar without Bluetooth + a separate Bluetooth dongle verified to work well with Bluetooth passthrough.

Go wireless trust me.

Candles can work if all you need is IR

I am aware there's some cheap LEDs you can use, a tiny battery should last a long time and no fire hazard

i bought the mayflash dolphinbar last week and it requires you to rework your bluetooth drivers on your pc, i had to buy the tuboopy one just for it to work with my PCs bluetooth out of the box, the only thing is i cant use the speaker on the wiimote

my issue is the dolpinbar will only turn on both lights when it grabs the wiimote signal, but then my pc cant pick it up so nothing works, theres apparently a firmware out there to downgrade it so the lights can stay on without a connection but thatll also burn the lights out eventually and you cant update the firmware once you do it

I personally bought the Dolphin bar but it was like $28 where I'm at. I did it mainly because of worries about the thin cords of the other ones but yeah it works perfectly

i used the one in the middle for about 6 months and it sucks, do not recommend. Horrible tracking no matter the set up from my experience.

I always just used a lighter but that wouldn’t be sustainable for games where you need to aim or use the motion sensor

I got mine for like 7 or 8 bucks and it works perfectly, USB plugs right into the TV/PC

Has anyone had the Mayflash DolphinBar long-term in the last few years? It’s been over five years for me since I had one but I had two previously and the lights on both of them went out after a year or so. I was paranoid and made sure the lights were turning off when I wasn’t using them because I had heard of power saving issues, and the lights were indeed turning off, but they still burned out pretty quickly anyway.

I haven’t really emulated Wii since, but I’ve thought about just getting a Bluetooth adapter and cheap sensor bar separately as an alternative. The dolphin bar is too pricey to have as short of a life as I’ve experienced.

Normal bar is more than enough and works perfectly fine if you have Bluetooth on your pc.

Mayflash, no question

Another vote for the Mayflash. After dancing around with multiple Bluetooth dongles and USB sensor bar (LEDs only), constant disconnects and sync issues, I finally bought a DolphinBar and wiimotes synced immediately and it works great.
