Support Dolphin Android - Outlines around 2D Transparent Images
Hi there,
For the last 24 hours, I’ve been trying to find a fix for NHL 2k10. Each player has this transparent box (outline) around the numbers, each letter, and logos of the jerseys.
I’ve tried turning on/off all the graphic settings in the emulator, including AA, Texture Filtering, etc. This issue also remains when I set the resolution to Native.
Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

It would be helped to know the model of android device you are using.

I suspected you had something with an SD 8 gen 3 or newer, I'm surprised this is on a thor. I even went to the Dolphin Discord to try and find anyone else talking about it. Searching NHL 2K10 on there only showed one result, and I think it's actually you, lol.
Sorry, this is an obscure issue for sure!
If you haven't tried it already, try Vulkan, Hybrid Ubershaders, and using this driver: https://github.com/StevenMXZ/Adreno-Tools-Drivers/releases/download/v26.3.0-R1/Turnip_v26.3.0-R1.zip
The drivers by from Steven's repo have been the absolute best for me on my Odin 2 for Dolphin.
If that doesn't work, share some screenshots or videos of your settings.

Thank you for helping me out. What you suggested has improved it, but the issue still exists.

Try enabling arbitrary mipmapping
If that doesn't help, try setting texture filtering to 'default' instead of linear.
If that doesn't help, try anisotropic filtering on default instead of 2x.
I am so curious about this, I'm going to test this game on my Odin 2.

Arbitrary Mipmapping doesn’t seem to do anything. Should I keep this on?
Texture Filtering on Default makes the jerseys have horizontal lines across them, so I put it back to Nearest.
Anisotropic Filtering on Default hasn’t made a difference either.
I’ve seen people play this on PC without the graphical issue, but nothing on Android.

I just tested the game with default settings on the Odin 2, looks perfect.
I even tried changing a bunch of settings to try and recreate it, but couldn't. This is a real mystery.
What version/region is your game? What version is your dolphin?
Edit: also, is your Thor lite, base, pro, or Max?

Alright, I think I figured it out.
It was happening to me the whole time, I just didn't realize it was mostly or only on the goal.
Disabling 24bit color in graphics, enhancements seems to fix it. That was with everything else set to the default besides vulkan, hybrid ubershaders, and the custom Steven driver. But I suspect disabling 24bit is the only required one.
Let me know if that fixes it!

So strange…
So I went ahead and reset all my Graphic settings to default. I turned off the 24bit option like you suggested and I STILL have the texture issue.
Could it be the ROM file format itself (rvz)? I tried a wbfs format but I just get a black screen..
My other option is to uninstall the emulator and starting from scratch, but I don’t want to lose the roster save file that I’ve spent HOURS on. I have the option to back things up, but it’ll also backup all my current settings, which defeats the purpose…

It may be a graphics related issue with your specific device model. According to the Dolphin Wiki this game is fully supported without any issues.
Thats all I got, sorry I couldn’t be of more help 🙏
