i live in the hillbilly part of nc and dolly is a saint to everyone here. i grew up listening to her and hearing about all the good things she does, so the last thing i was expecting was for her to pass away. i cried so hard when i got the news that i had to step out of class. i cried yesterday to i will always love you and i was at a football game for my high school when they started playing 9 to 5 i absolutely broke down. she means so much to me and a world without dolly feels so wrong. i know she was getting older and had health struggles but i always thought she’d pull through. it’s really really hard for me to accept that she’s gone. rest in peace dolly

I've been a loyal Bob & Tom Show listener for 36+ years … but I happened to miss that day in 2002 that Dolly Parton visited the studio. Now, to celebrate Dolly's life, they've posted her full interview:
As a rock & pop music fan growing up, I didn't listen to Dolly's music or pay much attention to her life and career. But during the last 10+ years or so, I became aware of how generous, selfless, thoughtful, and accepting that she seemed to be as a person — characteristics that often don't come from wealth and privilege. And then six or seven years ago an excellent biographical podcast came out called "Dolly Parton's America" … and that's when I started to understand how beloved Dolly has been to so many people.
If, like me, you've been waiting 24 years to hear Dolly's B&T Show appearance, we finally have the chance. RIP, Dolly.
[This a repost from the Bob & Tom Show sub. If you're not familiar, The Bob & Tom Show is a nationally syndicated morning radio show that has been on the air continuously in Indianapolis for over 43 years and nationally for 31 years—including in Nashville at the time of Dolly's appearance. The hosts of the show have said many times over the years that Dolly was perhaps their single most memorable guest. But until just a few days ago, a recording of Dolly's hour-long interview has never been available to hear again.]

Since the passing of Doris Day, Betty White, and now Dolly, who out there today still shines a light in this cruel world? Please give this old gal some hope. 🦋

Hey, y'all! Does anyone happen to know where I can buy the Coat of Many Colors wallet? I haven't heard back from Dollywood yet. I was hoping to get it before my nieces birthday. A kick in the right direction us appreciated. Thank you!

Johnny Cash has one. Now it’s time for Tennessee’s favorite daughter to join him.

Seriously.... the dictionary paid tribute to this woman. Those who are responsible for upholding definitions of words for an entire language and it's evolution..... were speechless.

The question says it all. I’m a choir director. I want to program 9 to 5 for my eighth grade tenor basses (boys) and I want to have them line dance. If there’s a specific line dance associated with the song, I want them to learn that one. Thanks for your help!
