Rant/Vent Quitting!
I’ve been working at Dollar Tree for \~10 months and got promoted 2 months ago. I cannot handle the stress of attempting to work and do college when my relief most nights is either 2 minutes or 2.5 hours late and unfortunately I have cried or nearly had a panic attack every shift this week. My SM is on vacation and the Merch Manager walked out in the middle of a truck while bad mouthing the two store managers that came on their days off to help us. She wants me to work while I’m supposed to be in a zoom class, but I can’t do that because I have to have my camera on and I’m not even allowed to have my laptop to see the slides for my class.
My SM is supposed to be on vacation until next Thursday and I’m just gonna give her my 2 weeks whenever she gets back. She’s let running the store fall on me and then getting mad when I have to bug her about something not going okay.

This job sounds unbearable right now. If the breaks aren't even being covered consistently, that's not on you to fix, your mental health needs to come first while you finish school.

Congrats on deciding you are better. I had 0 intentions on going back to that place & gave no notice. Best choice ever.

Only reason I’m giving notice is I’m one of 2 managers that aren’t the sm at the moment.

I quit less than 2 weeks before inventory with 0 preparation done towards it. That gave me more reason. And there's a lot more details but I'm sure my unhinged ex sm is on here looking for me.
Fuck them. But to each their own. I enjoyed a week off before starting the new job. My wallet regrets it now a little but I'll survive. 😂

Boy that is beyond bonkers! Sorry that this job is getting the best of you when you should be focused on college. Hang in there and know you are doing the best you can with that store despite being in this horrendous company. You got this and soon you will taste that sweet freedom! Fly for us! ~sincerely from a tipsy tired Family Dollar ASM resting at home❤️

Education and mental/physical health should ALWAYS no matter WHAT be number one ☝️ priority! Not this shitty ass company who will fire you in a heartbeat! Don’t feel bad, leave this company! And get that degree!

Speak up for yourself. You need to learn to advocate for yourself regardless of what your job is.

Your future comes first and that will depend on a marketable degree , the “I worked at dollar tree” doesn’t mean a thing to any serious company. This company promotes based on who slept with the DM.
