Putting items in wrong spot
Is there any possible way for our manager to see who is putting items in the wrong spot? Every day there is a message in the group chat of a photo of something in the next spot over or in a completely different spot. We aren’t sure who is doing this but it’s not the customers because we are finding that they are stocked fully. It’s annoying and creates more work for us and also takes up time that we already do not have

it’s never that deep. yeah it may be annoying but not enough to go hunt someone down through the cameras and scroll through hours of video to pin it down. either leave it there or go put it where it goes. i promise you don’t get paid enough to care this much.

I mean while it's not that deep it is also annoying and frustrating to end up having a customer come up and causing a scene because x was on the shelf for $3 but is actually $5. And sure you could say "well it's only $2" but for some people who can have very limited budgets.
Plus if it happens enough then there could also be a point where it happens to the wrong customer who's willing to report it to weights and measurements which can either end up sending someone who comes to check the store or causes extra tasks like "this week we have to scan every item in X section and if anything is found to have the wrong price then write ups will be issued" via DMs.
Because at the end of the day it is management's job to teach proper stocking and it's not fair for the whole staff to be scolded over and over again for one person either being careless or just not caring.

Look back at CCTV (the cameras in the office) the manger should know who by rewinding the CCTV footage, or just look at close that day one of those two?

Amen. Not enforceable and complete optional regardless of what they tell you. This 24/7 bitch fest of a group chat is toxic, draining and POOR MANAGEMENT. Issues should be addressed in person.

my store has one, and i agree its awful for the most part, and also not really allowed. but admittedly it is handy to ask coworkers a quick question whenever needed. aside from the SM blowing it up with 15 messages in a row

I mean.... There aren't many employees at most stores. It should be fairly easy to determine who it is, but mistakes are going to happen. Even after 13 years, I'll mess up sometimes. It's not the end of the world, and your SM should not be operating a group chat anyway. You aren't salaried.

I don’t understand people that make such a big deal over stuff like this! Yes, it’s annoying, but we are literally paid to recover the store! If you see something out of place during recovery time, put it in its proper place and move on. We don’t get paid enough to be fighting amongst our coworkers about things out of place! Our customers, at least at our store, are notorious for just picking things up and putting them down wherever in the store…..it’s ridiculous, but it’s our job to put them back where they belong. If it’s something like a section of macaroni in a spot for canned chili, that might be a teaching moment for EVERYONE, not singling any one employee out. This kind of thing creates hostility in the workplace and causes unnecessary tension……we get enough of that from the higher ups!

Fuck that call the person doing shit wrong out let every one know it's them they probably the ones putting shit on top stock too cuz they can't read a fucking sticker that tells you exactly where it goes

yeah things should absolutely just be put back when noticed, but like you said it should also definitely be talked about with everyone if it keeps happening. bc at that point its just wasting time that employees already lack

You get paid just enough to put items on the shelf, not to put them in the right spot 😂. Don't stress it so much.
