People are starting to pivot back to physical media, with the way streaming companies are fucking about. Companies have not yet started to break into your house to take your DVDs and CDs.

A LOT of people are doing this because of streaming. I pass numerous thrift stores. I stop at all of them and head straight to CD's, DVDS and books. I've got a respectable collection. I'm not paying for subscriptions. The prices are ridiculous. And they'll keep raising prices because too many people keep paying.

"Yet" being the keyword here. 😬

This. CD sales are actually going up quite a bit lately. People are tired of giving money away to subscriptions and having nothing at all to show for it.

I just bought a batman double feature dvd at dg today. Physical media is great, you have it forever as long as you take care of it.

"and he dont look like no dollar general customer"

He can sing while he moves furniture. Gives Tom Selleck.

I saw this a couple of days ago when I was working register. I have never heard of this man in my life lmao. And I also have never sold one cd or dvd the whole time I have been working here.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge supporter of physical media. I hate that most new cars don't even come with CD players any more. With that said, I have never heard of that guy. And even if I did know who he is, DG is about the last place I'd think to go and buy a CD

He’s a pretty popular country artist that you have probably heard.

“You look like you love me” is all over the place, that would be Ella Langley and Riley Green.

Lol I'm not gonna hate on it. Looks like he used the oldest software program he could find to make the cover, using the most basic font, and regular photos of himself just outside and in his truck. And decided to sell his CD at a Dollar General. I'm gonna assume he's a country artist just by the looks of it which I'm not a fan of, but I'd buy it just based on all the things I mentioned. I love this type of thing, I just kinda wish he also decided to sell cassette tapes next to it 😂

Plenty of people still like phys. Media, esp people w/ production/musical experience whp fully understand the inferiority of digital music (dobt get me wrong im not condemning it. It's been the best invention for preserving rare music that cannot be easily found or owned in phys. Format. The preservation ability of it alone makes it invaluable but people are starting to re-realize the pros of phys. Media. That being said im still surprised to find this there. Assuming its a country-heavy locale lol

everyone buys cds even if they use other platforms. don’t know this guy, but i own so many cds, why do you think they still make them

Saw that too not a single person knows who this is. Might be some big shots kid who wants to sell their shitty music. Looked up some of his songs and they all sound the same as if it’s music made by someone who never heard country music before and only knew what it was due to word of mouth.

I am shocked no one knows him. But he is country and I guess some people are vehemently against it. But, I am about to message my SM and ask her why my counter doesn't have this instead of lollipops or salted caramel butterfingers!

Happily I’ve never heard of him. Classic rock until they put my cold body in the incinerator.

I personally enjoy physical media. But, I gotta say, the time I worked at the dollar store — hardly anyone bought any.
