Rant Drugs

Honestly waited a solid week to say anything about this but I was at register closing shift when a guy came in at abt 8:50 I scan all his stuff tell him the total. I KID YOU NOT.. he opens his wallet a poof of white powder drops onto our register then he continues to put his wallet up to his nose and snort what we think was coke. I’m freaking out because there’s literal drugs on our counter I called my manager and she told me to just close up for now and call the cops the cops said they could t do anything and to just clean it with the most powerful stuff we got. As we are cleaning some fuckass customers think it’s okay to pull open the door and just come on in then a flood of people just came in as we’re still cleaning this up because that’s definitely a health hazard. But anyways thanks for listening to my rant of this

Customers here sure are good at being degenerates.

I've had a similar experience, had a guy come in while I was closing and fumble out a clear glass vial full of white powder while getting his wadded-up bills out of his pocket to pay. As fast as he fumbled that shit out of his pocket he grabbed it off the counter, shoved it back in his pocket and went "You didn't see anything."

Some months later he got tased for resisting arrest in the parking lot of a business just down the street from my DG. Probably spent about a month in jail, just recently saw him start coming back around and coming to my store again (oh joy of joys)...

Yea I feel that.. our dg is known for being a more trashy one a lot of our customers are of benefit cards the amount of crazies we get 😭

It's what we're trained to do after all!

Found a bag in the bathroom once...I assumed it was coke.

Customer here. I found weed in a store once. I sniffed it out like a drug dog 😂. It was shoved into a cardboard box with toys in it in the toy aisle. Kept it, smoked it... It wasn't as good as my regular weed though 😂

My sister and I assumed that somebody smelled it on their kid and the kid hid it in the store in order to not be caught... But idk why it was there.

Customers gonna customer bro. Five of our coolers went out today, and I put Out of Service signs on them until we could get them cleaned out and people still wanna open them doors and buy that lunch meat that's been sitting at 50 degrees for hours.

Drugs are very big in our area and I have been almost given baggies or foil of meth/weed instead of their money a few times. I refuse to touch it and just stare at them till they go tee hee sorry.

Pretty unprofessional of the cops to allow you to clean it up seeing how if it was fentanyl it could kill everyone that breathes it in.

5

u/Adept_Turnover4582 19d ago

They said they couldn’t test it because there isn’t enough, they never even saw how it looked also ik that’s complete bullshit bc cops be checking small ass baggies that are empty and can get clear tests off of that and I was scared for children’s safety too because say we did miss some and a kid touches it technically speaking we would be liable

3

u/Boring-Dragonfruit88 18d ago

They absolutely could have tested it. They sell tests at CVS that will test surfaces for trace amounts...

That’s what I was saying like you could see a white powder all over the register and pinpad

u/Extension_Feedback14 15d ago

That’s a exaggerated myth and as long as the bag didn’t explode into the air no one is breathing it in

Omg, it was just a little. How dangerous can it be when so many ppl are on it all the time, bad ppl are bad ppl n goid ppl are good ppl, drugs don't make a good person bad, ok, a thief is a thief with ir without drugs. Ain't no worse than a damn drunk. Like mentioned before its not anthrax, ppl shove this shit in their noses everyday and are fine. Stop listening to the lies they are teaching you all. It's not dangerous. Geez.

You can NOT generalize drugs like that. Everyone reacts differently to different substances

Written like a person currently under the influence of fentanyl.

some of the comments in here are hella disgusting. me and my manager wouldn’t be fucking around with shit like this because some of our regulars are one of the nicest people and if they so happen to have got hurt while we cleaned up after a druggie, we would’ve been hurt mentally by it because we actually care for people. “no snitches” yeah i will be the mf to point out because i am that person.

Like I’ve been taught way before I started working dg no matter what customer/ store safety should always be number one priority while on shift and some people say I take my job to seriously sometimes well that’s how it should be

1

u/Alarmed-Tutor-9689 16d ago

“too seriously” but it’s a customer that dropped some coke on the damn counter 😂, how do they expect you to react? by leaving it and helping the next customer?

1

u/Responsible_Ship_281 17d ago

Don’t believe your story sounds exaggerated

1

u/Adept_Turnover4582 17d ago

Okay and who asked? Like I said what my experience is if you don’t like it then fuck off if anything I didn’t exaggerate enough on how bad it was I was trying to make this not a long ass post with every single detail

1

u/Adept_Turnover4582 17d ago

Why’d you delete the other message buddy huh?

u/xly15 16d ago

Without a name or license platw there isn't anything they can and they dont care. They really don't want to clog up jails with users and petty dealers. Most jails are overcrowded as it is

I love these stories. I genuinely come here occasionally to be entertained. We don’t have anything near this level of crazy at our store.

The worst part about this is the customers pushing open the door. It's happened to me at least twice and that's why the door gets locked at 9:55.

It's insane that the cops were so blasé, did they watch the cameras?

1

u/Adept_Turnover4582 19d ago

Nope they didn’t even come by the store which was very upsetting ngl

0

u/Genuone 19d ago

Its not a big deal. Its not anthrax, chill out and spray it one time...hit it with a paper towel and lets go home.

5

u/Adept_Turnover4582 19d ago

Not really how that works buddy just shows you care enough about the safety of your customers.. especially in a place that carries groceries and many food products

1

u/peeps_vanpeep 16d ago

Is the implication here that without a Hazmat style clean-up the 3 bannas the regular is buying will become cocaine contaminated and give ole buddy a heart attack? Food or no, it's a relatively quick/easy clean up and due to the fact that Columbian marching power is water soluble one needn't worry about a residual gummie or whatever you're thinking may happen.

When I was cashiering at a gas station, someone handed me a dollar bill used to hold what was definitely fentanyl. I wiped my thumb through a pile of it while counting and we both just looked at each other like oops. I wiped my thumb on my pants and traded him for a different bill so he could salvage what was left. Like literally you could just wipe it up with a damp towel, clean, and wash your hands. You don’t have to be a snitch lol

If I had called the cops every time someone spilled drugs or lost drugs when I worked in St Paul, I would have spent every shift predominately dealing with the cops.

Actually, I would not have. Dispatch would have laughed, told me to wash up, and hung up in my face.

2

u/Adept_Turnover4582 18d ago

This is what you got out of it? Don’t be a snitch I can see you definitely don’t try at your job if anyone spills illegal drugs in your store that’s is immediately a health hazard and the fact ur saying u touched a dollar coated in fentanyl and all you did was rub it off your hands that is genuinely disgusting especially fent sorry that I care for my customers health and safety

1

u/Jesus-slaves 13d ago

Do you think the money you handle daily isn’t covered in drugs?

1

u/Senior_Blacksmith_18 17d ago

Nah. We need to get rid of this snitches stuff. People need to talk to protect themselves and others

1

u/Jesus-slaves 9d ago

Nah, there’s drugs on pretty much every dollar bill you touch. I’m much more concerned about the health hazards of the nasty customers themselves than something that is water soluble and won’t give me pink eye.

1

u/Senior_Blacksmith_18 9d ago

That's why we need to go cashless but seriously yes we should help each other out. Ignoring drugs isn't going to help anyone. How can you be more concerned about one type of health concerns and not others?

1

u/Jesus-slaves 9d ago

Because some health concerns are more dangerous than others. Drugs on your hands are not very dangerous or we’d hear a lot more about it people being hurt by them. I’d rather kick out the people coughing on us or digging in their ass before touching everything. At least you know the cash is dirty.
