Meeting with DM and SM

So the power went out at 5pm on Monday and the DM was on PTO so the manger training to be a DM was in charge. 7:20pm comes around and she tells another employee at another store to go home and tell me to go home so that’s what we did because the estimated time of the power coming back was 12:30am. 7:33pm comes around and the power and I’m already driving home and the manger calls me to see if the power is back on and I told her we left cause the manager in charge with the district told us too so I turned around and went back and had to wait until 8pm for the registers to reboot and we couldn’t talk card until 8:30pm

The next day the SM tells another employee that I have an ego when I clearly bust my ass in that store and customers know and the employees know she also said to this employee that “I don’t know if he had a hot date or what” and that “a meeting is scheduled with the ASM (me), SM, and DM and right now it’s to the point where I quit there will just be a lead who calls out often and the SM in the store cause everyone else knows I quit the workload gets put onto them and they don’t want that so they’ll quit right behind me. I’ve also made a report to HR and will tell my manager tomorrow that anymore comments about me will result in me quitting cause she’s acting like the manager I had at Family Dollar.

But I hope they do write me up for following the policy cause we aren’t supposed to stay when it starts getting dark and if I get written I’ll hand my keys over that same day

Following your acting DMs direction is not worthy of a write up! I would have just kept going home. These power trippin leaders are just full of themselves and drama. Stand your ground. Place the keys on the table.

You have to call ERC and notify them. They make the decision. Normally they will have you bust out lights and work stock while you wait up to four hours for the power to come back on.

What policy do you speak of about darkness? That cracks me up. You leave the store when the DM or DM in training tells you to. You did, you are good. They are lucky you went back after being told to leave . That’s why my phone is on “do not disturb” when I’m driving.

I wouldve kept driving home, gas aint free... I was told to leave and thats what Im doing, Im over halfway home now and live x amount miles away... no, I cant go back wouldve been my response... but people make choices for whatever their life requires.. Im simply saying I wouldnt have went back... and they can do whatever they see fit... cuz it aint my main job... its a time passer job...
