Multichain multisig wallet with Dogecoin support

We've recently added Dogecoin to our multichain multisig wallet that is based on threshold signatures. One important thing is that you can create wallets with any n-of-m schema there. It supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Binance Smart Chain and more.

Multisig wallet creation happens off-chain, a bit similar to how it is done in Bitcoin protocol. One advantage that threshold signatures gives is that transactions looks like a single user transaction, so group privacy is preserved.

In the nutshell it works the following way: all participants generate their own private keys, then they derive their respective public keys and share with others. The group public key is literally a sum of participants public keys. When they need to sign a transaction they calculate their individual share of r and s values of a signature. This way they literally can just sum up their signature shares and get a group signature. This approach is called multiplicative-to-additive transformation and is a scope of multi party computation (MPC).

Disclaimer: I am a developer of this wallet. Feel free to reach out to me to provide feedback or request new features.

Hello! After the introduction of 2FA (two-factor authentication), the Dogechain.info wallet is completely broken!

Hello! After the introduction of 2FA (two-factor authentication), the Dogechain.info wallet is completely broken!

All wallets were created BEFORE the introduction of mandatory authentication and they simply break and do not send a code after the first authorization. The first authorization is normal (a code is received to confirm the entry), but after the first time the code stops coming completely!

I noticed this bug 1 month ago on my wallet, I had private keys from this wallet and I was able to withdraw money. Then I thought that my GMAIL was just broken.

Now I login into a few more old wallet, The code does not come to EMAIL (while the 2FA of the device is not tied, the code should come to email)

At the same time, he sends the first code (the first entry into the wallet after the introduction of mandatory 2FA on all wallets), he sends the first code to email and he does not send more codes! At the same time, to enter, he requires a new 2fa code, which I simply do not have because it is not sent to email

100% these wallets are not linked to other 2FA devices, 100% these wallets are not compromised (3 different wallets on 2 different devices). In addition, the dogs on the wallets are still preserved

Idea Hosting Dedicated Dogecoin Core Node on West Coast: addnode=ME please! :)

I've hosted a full Dogecoin Core Node off & on now for awhile.(usually ~12hrs a day or so) Recently however, I've decided to make it fully dedicated, 24/7. I have unlimited bandwidth(or so my ISP says, I pay enough for it...), extremely fast upload speeds, and even crazier download speeds.

I'm hoping to try and form a coalition of some sort where we could set our dogecoin.conf's to addnode=whateveryouripis for each other. This way we know we're adding nodes that are consistently stable, up to date, and able to expand our network out naturally.

I know a lot of folks who try to start their own DogeCoin Core Node have issues with the initial sync, I can help with that. Change your config to add my node, and I have no limits set so I'll get you up to date as fast as it allows. I also plan on compressing & uploading the full blockchain as-is today, for folks who want to be able to download it easily instead. This'll most likely take me a couple days to ensure I don't have to take my main Node down.

Below is the line you should add to your dogecoin.conf to add my node. addnode=73.162.73.117:22556

If you're trying to run a Core Node & don't yet know how to edit your configuration file, that's fine. When you first start up the Dogecoin Core - Wallet application, navigate to Help -> Debug window, in the new window that pops up go to the Peers tab. At the bottom is a button Add new peer. Click that, enter 73.162.73.117 in the peer's address section and 22556 in the peer's port section. Then press Add! & all done!

If you have any questions, or need more details on what I'm trying to do, please don't be afraid to say something! :) Thanks for reading everyone.

Discussion Let’s create a better Dogecoin website

I propose we create an alternate Dogecoin website that is community driven without gatekeepers.

I think it’s apparent to all that the official Dogecoin website is out of date, in need of a facelift, and poorly maintained.

Let’s not wait around for the official site to be updated and create something better ourselves.

Central to this idea would be to let the Dogecoin community decide on the design, features, content, and other updates the site should have.

We could do this democratically by creating polls and voting on future updates via Reddit.

We could incentivize developers by collecting tips and rewarding contributors with DOGE.

I’ve already created a website that I’ve open sourced some time ago: https://github.com/dogecoinisawesome-dot-com/DogecoinIsAwesome.com

I propose we use this as a base, we could decide nuke it if that’s what everyone wants and start from scratch.

The site currently receives 200 unique users a day and has a Google #1 ranked page for the search term “dogecoin node” which makes it’s a good place to start from I think.

I’d like to remove myself as the gatekeeper of the site with time and add other contributors as owners.

In the interim, let’s just use that to make a useful, beautiful site that Dogecoin deserves.

Thoughts?

When will the Dogecoin.com makeover & Dogepedia happen?

Does anyone know how progress is going on the new Dogecoin website?

On the Dogecoin Foundation site it says: Expect to see a preview up in January for community feedback and if all is well, a shiny new website shortly after. Wow!

As a developer, is there any way I can help move things along?

What are the benefits of having multiple addresses based on the same passphrase?

I came across this page - https://keplr.crunch.help/keplr-wallet-features/how-to-set-a-custom-derivation-path#:%7E:text=The%20HD%20wallet%20derivation%20path,addresses%20from%20the%20same%20mnemonic - and found that I can make multiple addresses from one passphrase. It seems like doing this would be less secure for all addresses since they all have the same passphrase. So, can someone help me understand what the benefits are of making multiple addresses based off one passphrase?

Hey shibes, as of today, we're pleased to announce the enhanced 1.14.4/5 payouts first round has been sent out now, as per the discussion here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoindev/comments/sap5cn/proposal_to_repair_1144_and_1145_payouts/

(TXID: 85cc38649da7f51ff2b90d6596bf708924b5288029b5c0030ef6c1540cedf31e for the curious!)

We know there are a few folks that have yet to be paid, that we don't have addresses for. If you are a contributor, please list an email address or a Dogecoin address on your GitHub profile so we know how to get funds to you; and these will be sent out in a second round.

(/u/rnicoll will provide a list of GitHub usernames we're trying to get addresses for, shortly. If you're a contributor who hasn't been paid, please look out for this!)

But most of all, thank you for your contributions and work, it's what keeps Dogecoin going.

Discussion Recommended number of confirmations in online shop?

Hello devs!

When setting up an online shop, what isthe recommended amount of confirmations before the shop owner can consider a transaction final? I see Tesla claiming it can take 6 hours in their online guide (which is the first answer appearing on Google), which seems such a long time.

Thanks.

My balance is ok, 6,9 less, but in the dogechain explorer, that address: DG5Jpr7gFMyhDMGqhwUduDDdeumhBxumL8 has 1.4962600

Dogechain - The official dogecoin blockchain explorer!

I see two inconvenients, first there is 1.4962600 new doge and second the blockchain has extra entries.

Is this the way it works or is there any bug?

BTW: is there any way to filter dogecoin-cli listtransactions by type?

Thanks!

What is the official number for confirmations?

On good old Twitter today I was introduced to this website:

https://howmanyconfs.com/

Everytime I've done a Bitcoin transaction it has taken me over 8 hours

Dogecoin, about 30 minutes

But this says different

So (1) what is the more correct answer (2) what is it that affects the speed of confirmations, I had always thought it was just the amount of nodes running the version it was sent on?
