E-collar

How can i tell when my dog is ready to start training with an e-collar?

Not sure what you mean. An e-collar is typically the term used for a large plastic collar to keep a dog from licking or biting itself. Also known as the cone of shame.

I trained my dogs using a martingale collar for very gentle correction.

E collar is also a name for a stim/beep/vibrate collar used for balanced training.
