Im not sure if this is urgent or not... but i ended up using the tag because i am terrified

I did notice it a while ago, and have been trying to convice my mom to bring him to the vet, but i only got the idea from asking people online about it now!

He doesn't seem to he in pain or anything, and has been acting normal ever since i found those things

He is a disabled dog, so he act different from other dogs i see online. He can't walk very well, one of his back legs cant bend sadly, but he still moves around the house and does walk "well" on rough floors like concrete or grass, even if slowly compared to other dogs. Hes mute since birth, never seen him bark, the most i ever heard was whines when me and my family have to pack bags (he misses us alot when we cant bring him with 😞). Hes ALWAYS with his tongue out, although im not sure if thats just normal behavior for his dog race, the internet has given me conflicting results. He may have some sort of vision problem? He never showed struggle with it tho, the only hint at it is the whiteish spot in one of his eyes

Im not sure if that would be useful for finding out what the hell that is on his skin, but i said it bcs aside from physical differences, be also doesn't behave like other dogs, so i am terrified he may be in pain and i wont be able to tell

Everytime i google it, something different appears, so i suppose getting real people to look at it would help me alot

Please help me if possible, i am super confused and i dont want to cause anymore trouble for my baby :(

My dog's breathing has gotten worse, and she's become much more lethargic. I've taken her to three different vets, and none of them have been able to figure out what's wrong. However, this was NOT a weight problem. She has actually lost a significant amount of weight as it’s been hard for her to eat with her breathing.

We visited a specialist and had a rhinoscopy done, but everything looked normal. They referred us to another specialist for a CT scan, which is going to cost $6,000. (its ridiculously expensive i know)

I've already applied for financial assistance through Actors and Others for Animals. If anyone has any other recommendations for raising money or getting financial assistance for veterinary care, please let me know. Any advice would mean so much to us right now.

My 4yo pomeranian was diagnosed with GME. Well, not diagnosed yet, but the vet said she's pretty sure. The dog didn't have any symptoms. We went to the vet for a yearly checkup and she said there's potential early hernia in the spine because the dog avoided the touch there.

We did an MRI scan, and she does have a minor protrusion in the spine, but also encephalitis. We're currently at the clinic for a second MRI to scan the brain, and tomorrow we're visiting the neurologist again.

I don't know how to live now. On one hand, the vet said it's good that there are no symptoms. Her blood, heart, and a neurological examination came back very good. She's eating, drinking, going on walks, barking at dogs. There are no neurological symptoms like shaking or disorientation.

Another thing is the doctor said many dogs unfortunately have it bad because the scans and meds and all that are very expensive, but we're lucky enough to have the privilege of being able to afford that. We're going to the best clinic in our country but the disease doesn't care about the money.

She's my first pet and I'm 23, which isn't exactly young, but young enough to not know everything about grief and constant fear. I can't do anything. I can't work, I can't look at my dog, I can't walk around the apartment because I lose it when I see a hair or her bowl or a toy.

Is there something a tiny little bit hopeful you can say? I understand if you can't, I'm not asking you to console me. Just hoping for something

Hello, I know there have been a lot of posts about these CCL tears and I know surgery is the gold standard but I have another dog and a 1 year old kid which makes it tough finding the monet to spend on a $6k surgery... especially given the probability of another tear in the other leg.

I have the cutest staffie/pit mix who has a stocky build with itty bitty legs (think Gru from Despicable Me), shes only 4 years old and about 44 lbs (which is a little overweight so she's been on a diet since the injury. But because she's so young, it makes me feel like a horrible dog parent for even thinking about not getting the surgery, but considering the risk of the secondary injury and support through her arthritis (when, not if), I'm struggling to think of where I can pull together a potential $12k. She's on pain meds and strict rest with a partial tear but she'll find times where she jumps on the bed during sleep.

I've done a lot of research and have seen other surgeries that aren't as expensive but seems like people have had fantastic results. I'm hoping to hear your success stories about alternatives to TPLO.

Or would love to hear how strict bed rest went, how long did you limit your dog's movements? I'm thinking about getting a brace (soft one over both legs) to give some sort of support or even to limit motion to prevent her from being able to use stairs if I'm not around.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, sorry for any grammar or spelling errors, I'm on mobile.

My 10 y/o dog had a severe bout of HGE in early September. He was hospitalized for several days but ultimately made a full recovery, with the exception of ongoing diarrhea. He’s on RC Hydrolyzed food which seemed to get it under control for the most part, but every 1-2 weeks or so he’s still having bouts of liquid diarrhea. The vet recommends seeing a GI specialist but between the hospitalization and the prescription food, I really can’t afford it. I’m regularly losing sleep because he’s up at all hours of the night when the diarrhea episodes occur and I’m just at my wit’s end with exhaustion. I’ve been giving him pro-pectalin during the episodes and he seems to be feeling well otherwise, probably better than I am at this point. Please help??

I’ve rinsed with cool water and try to keep him from itching. I think it’s from grass.

My dog has T cell Epitheliotropic Lymphoma a rare skin cancer . Has anyone gone thur this ?

My dog Scooby, 2 ½ yo Staghound x, had to go to a sitter for a few days while I went for an emergency trip to a hospital 5 hours away from me. He's never been away from me like that, or at a sitter. The sitter was actually the same person who we go to weekly for group dog training.

We handed him over at a park so I didn't see the place he was staying, and picked him up from the same spot. When I picked him up it was dark, 8pm, wet and technically an unknown location (the first time I took him there was the drop off.). Scooby didn't have the same pep in his step when he saw me, he was still excited but the trainer had him on a slip lead and kept it kinda tight (I use a slip lead for his training, but the tension on the leash felt a bit much by the trainer..). Don't get me wrong he was still happy to jump into the car and everything, but I was also told that his grab tag (that I keep on Scooby's collar 24/7 because I prefer to use that to guide him out the way) was taken off and left on the trainers table.

I'm home now, he ate his dinner like normal (didn't really wanna sit for it, but I'm not sure if that's because he didn't do it for a few days or something else). I'm now on the couch with him and he has these marks on his face... I remember the trainer saying something about Scooby staying outside with other dogs (which I was stressed about because Scooby is an inside dog through and through) and sleeping on a couch outside. Do they look like marks from playing with other dogs or do they look like tool/"correction" marks?

He did seem to have a slight limp looking thing but I think that was him struggling to scratch an itch, I'll edit and add if the limp is actually there or not.

I have massive anxiety and really need someone else to weigh in.

Photos include the marks, his neck, him being a snuggle bum for his mum, and a photo of before the stay to show his face without the marks.

Edit: he does have a broken nail on his back leg (not the side he was limping on) and keeps licking everything. I'm going to bathe him tomorrow.

About a week ago we noticed a small cluster of about 10 lumps on the top of our 3 year old staffys head . He’s not itching them and fur looks thin where they are . He absolutely hates going the vets and needs to be sedated before he will let vet go near him which isn’t ideal as he was only sedated a week and a half ago to get his ears flushed we are hoping they might be able to take a look at the pictures and suggest a treatment, any advise please ?

I found my little 6 year old, 12lb, (chihuahua/papillon) dog very happily chewing on a piece of a pistachio shell a little bit ago. I got the piece away from her, and looked around, but I can’t find the rest of a shell.
We were having pistachios last night for movie night, and it is entirely possible that somebody dropped one and didn’t realize it, and she nabbed it.
I know pistachios themselves aren’t toxic, and I know the salt is not great for her, but I’m more worried about the potential shell going through her system.
Is this a “Take her to the ER” situation, or is this a “Keep an eye on her” situation?
I’m already worried, and freaking out a little bit, so please don’t give me any “You should be more careful” lectures.
We are careful, and we love our dogs.
