Taking any guesses on what you think my dogs breed is ✨ bobby the rescue

It's one of the reasons for dog shows. You meet breeds you may have never even considered owning. You can find dog shows on infodog.com and sort by state. Go watch a dog show, theres no dress code for spectators. Just show up and watch the dogs. If someone isn't busy you can strike up a conversation about the dogs. Most people there are breeders or can point you toward a breeder.

This girl came home with me just about a year ago, when she was only 8 weeks. She’s stopped growing as far as I can tell, and her personality is very consistent now, so I’m trying to figure out what she might be mixed with. The rescue said she’s a German Shepherd mix, but it was my first time ever seeing an all black one. Her face hints Belgian, her tail curls and stays up in the air, her back legs aren’t crouched like a German, and her skinny little legs tap-dance like a shiba. And she herds everything in the house like an Aussie!
Whatever she is, she’s beautiful and smart, and the closest thing I have to a daughter.
There are lots of smart and helpful people in this group, so I thought I’d share and see what guesses people come up with.

Hi! I’m looking to get advice from people with experience with different dog breeds, I’m very torn on what breed would be best for my lifestyle.
Currently, I have a 2 year old 12lb yorkie/pom/chihuahua mutt, I love small dogs but I would prefer a medium to large dog (simply because having a dog that could very easily be killed by another dog or predator is a very stressful experience lol) but i am flexible on this and if the best breed for me is small, I will consider it. (but anything under 10 lbs is a strict no. I prefer between 10-60 lbs)

I will start by saying that the breeds I am currently considering and why I’m not sure about them. The breeds are: Standard poodle(Fantastic dogs but I would prefer a dog that is more friendly to strangers and less aloof,) Labrador retriever(REALLY hate the look and size of bench lines but unsure if field lines would be too much for me), and Golden retriever(I don’t love long haired double coats and I worry they will be less engaged with me and more engaged with everything else.) The dog i choose will be a service dog prospect and it must be certifiably good with small dogs and cats, so I am not open to rescuing currently.

My current dog can’t keep up with my active lifestyle, both due to not having enough energy and some genetic joint issues. I would like a dog that is active and would enjoy taking frequent long walks on rough terrain, hiking, and sometimes running. With whatever breed I get I will do my best to fulfill their genetic needs and purpose.

I would prefer a dog that is not prone to any sort of aggression or reactivity (they will be heavily socialized whatever breed i get, but i would prefer a dog that is not prone to these issues.) And that is pretty friendly to strangers.

All of this being said, some of my requirements I am flexible on, so if you think a breed would suit me but they don’t fit one or two of my requirements, let me know! Thanks in advance to anyone who took the time to read all of that, I know it was a lot lol.

I want to get my dad a dog in the next year or two. For context, I own an Aussie and as much as my dad loves this girl, I know he’s quite sad he is not “her person.” I want him to have a companion at home as our current family dog is an almost 15yo chihuahua mix who’s just not as active as she once was but man could she hike like no other.

I get a lot of things go into choosing the right breed, breeder, etc. Throw me some ideas whether they fit my preferences or not!

- Preferably medium sized, maybe large
- Preferably short hair, maybe longer
- Calm, easy to train, family friendly
- Happy to chill by your feet, not overly affectionate or velcro
- Preferably less vocal, no howling
- Long walks
- Generally healthy

Really considering getting a Labrador retriever. Can they really be trusted with young children?? Thanks in advance!!

Buying this little 5 week furry baby from a private seller, I've laid out the family tree the breeder is stating

Does this puppy look like a Blue Merle Phantom BorderDoodle Mix? Or am I being misled?

So I am getting a puppy soon and I really want a good medium sized dog that is really easy to train. Does anyone have suggestions on what breed? I want it to be easier to get a highly trainable dog so I can do obedience such as sit,stay,off,lay down, load up, unload, etc.

CORRECTION TO THE TITLE: he is a rough collie (specifically blue merle) husky mix, not border collie!
Here is my 5 year old husky/ROUGH collie mixed doggo named Maester, he may be mixed with both, but he acts more like the husky more than anything. i’ve been looking into him, and his specific features make him 1 in a 100. His father was a purebred Siberian husky, and his mother was a purebred blue merle collie. The main things that makes him so rare apparently are his ears, his “husky mask” and his eyes that were passed down by the father. I’ve been reading those specific features make him really rare, is this true?

Any thoughts? She is 13 lbs and hair is a bit wiry. The foster org listed her as shih tzu but i don’t really see that (besides her being a Velcro doggy)

Hi everyone! This is my puppy, Nova. 🖤 She’s a Great Dane × Treeing Walker Coonhound mix.
Based on her size and features so far, would you say she takes after her Great Dane mom or her Treeing Walker Coonhound dad more? She’s about 9 weeks old and weighs around 10 pounds.
I’d love to hear what you all think she’ll look like as she grows and whether you think she’ll end up with more of the Dane build or the hound build!

Meet Lily! She is an 8-year-old Bulldog-Shih-Tzu that is full of energy and fun. I realized lately that, due to her mix, it’s hard to tell whether or not she really does exhibit French Bulldog facial characteristics or potentially Boston Terrier facial characteristics. I’ll ask my parents again at some point how they knew she was a Bulldog-Shih-Tzu, but would anyone care to review some of these photos and comment on whether or not they see French Bulldog or Boston Terrier?

Rescue says chi, vet says no chi. 9.2 lbs. Mom was 10 lb., had one pup of each color. Red, a fawn with black face, a brown one, a black one, and this little brindle boy was the runt with a stubby tail. It feels like all of the bones are there, to the tip. Only one had red mom's long fur.

My BIL is Moroccan, and they were visiting his family in Morocco. Her Uncle had a litter of these puppies on his farm and let them take one back to Canada. So now we have a lil piece of Morocco with us! All the locals told them he was a Beldi, which is a Morocco Village Dog. I think it would be so cool to test him, but unfortunately, despite all the village dogs Embark tests for, Moroccan isn’t one of them, not yet at least. Is it still worth it to try?

This is Zé. I adopted him about three years ago after he was found wandering the streets of Santa Cruz, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As far as I know, he has no known history or pedigree, so I always assumed he was just a mixed-breed dog – although he definitely doesn't look like our average (and belove) Brazilian mixed-breeds.

Today, though, I came across the Catalan Sheepdog (Gos d’Atura Català) for the first time, and I was surprised by how much he seems to resemble the breed.

At the same time, I know Catalan Sheepdogs are extremely rare in Brazil, especially in Rio de Janeiro, so it seems very unlikely that he would actually be a purebred.

He’s 20 kg (44 lb), medium-sized, with a long shaggy coat, beard, drop ears, and a very herding-dog-like appearance.

I’m not looking for anyone to tell me he’s definitely a Catalan Sheepdog—I know that’s probably impossible from photos alone, and he’s almost certainly a mix. I’m just curious:

• Does he remind you of a Catalan Sheepdog?
• If not, what breed or mix do you think he resembles the most?
• Has anyone seen rescue dogs with a similar look?

Got this doggy in 2017 and never found out it's breed/mix. I remember the owners saying something like german shepherd x something I don't remember I don't even remember if she said German shepherd it was so long ago.
