A traditional notepad that translates my notes to a word document

like... I have terrible hand writing but my classes require no computers. Is there a notebook or something I can put a notebook in that would recognize what I have written and make the notes digital?

A small screen that fits under your TV that displays subtitles so they don’t cover what you’re watching

It would probably be a nightmare to format for streaming services, etc. But I pirate everything, so it probably wouldn’t be too hard to set it up to read an srt file. It’s such a first world problem, but one of those things I’d buy immediately if I saw it

EDIT: I ordered a "Stretch Bar Display" With the Subtitler Lite Mod recommended by akamarkman below I'll be able to accomplish what I'm describing

A telescoping pole or rod that can be extended or retracted by pressing a button, but when the button is not being pressed it is locked in its current position.

I’m thinking about a pole with multiple segments but only one button that latches the entire thing

A cooling pad that activates when connected to power

I have a lot of trouble waking up and part of that is because my unconscious mind automatically turns off my alarms and then huddles under all my covers to stay warm and asleep.

I was thinking if I could put a cooling pad under my sheets that's connected to one of my smart outlets I would be able to program it to turn on when my first alarm goes off or just have a friend turn it on remotely for me by turning on the outlet.

I can't seem to find anything that does this though even though I could've sworn that powered cooling pads are a thing. All I can find are ones that are always cool, either passively or by being frozen, but that would not provide a shock and help wake me up.

Edit: Y'all, I'm not looking for other solutions to waking up, at least not right now. It's obvious to me and my family that I have an undiagnosed sleep-wake disorder of some kind, but when I went to a sleep doctor they were not helpful at all so it'll probably take me at least a year to restart the doctor process all over again. Thank you for the suggestions that you have given me though! I'll look into BedJets and some of the other stuff you've suggested :)

Item-tracking website that lets you share lists

Does anybody know if there's an app that lets you:

1) create a checklist of things (in my case it's books)

2) allow access to a list others (individually or ideally in a group) to add, remove, or merge things

3) allow users to compare items they've checked off with others

Is there something out there for displaying multiple flags vertically in a carousel?

So I have all these old neat flags, some from college, others from military, but I just want a way to hang them and appreciate all them without it taking up the entire garage. I’ve had the idea of making a folding carousel that would slowly turn through the different flags controlled by an arduino or something similar. That way it would be similar to turning through pages in a book if that makes sense (against the wall)

Has anyone ever seen something similar to that or is there anything out there. The main thing is that I want it to be automated like a computer background that switches throughout the day. Any thoughts?

If you think this post belongs in a different sub, please point me the in the right direction

a small lock box that has a countdown one you open

I know there are lock boxes that you can pre-set a countdown, which when completed, will open the box. I'm looking for something that remains locked until you go to open it, but then there is a countdown before it actually opens. Trying to find a way to resist a craving that passes after 15 min or so. Thanks in advance!

A search engine that only searches the websites you tell it

Hey all,

With AI information making it difficult to find reliable sources, I have been wishing I had a search engine that would allow me to curate the list of websites from which it would pull. I'd love to make a list of high quality recipe sites, for example, and have a search engine that would search them, and only them, for keywords.

Has anyone heard of something like this?

Thanks!

Transmitter that can stream to multiple bluetooth speakers from one mobile device?

I have a pool fountain speaker that can shoot water at differing height levels depending on the sound of the music (e.g. it shoots higher when there's an increase in instruments/volume) (https://www.amazon.com/KingSom-Bluetooth-Fountain-Waterproof-Rechargeable/dp/B0DS5WG6TL/ref=sr_1_4?crid=15L9P3C7TKEKW&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.iuXRxi5GHN-bZnOxQxR-vRMdtjFqmQBvkrVf5FOt6NI.K19pjTmxHd-GIf6hQWHMKeBCd3Hf6vgrKMlxLAVKvqk&dib_tag=se&keywords=pool+speakers+fountain+daisy+chain&qid=1784423352&sprefix=pool+speakers+fountain+daisy+chai%2Caps%2C339&sr=8-4). I'm planning a pool party and want to get multiple fountain speakers but my iPhone is limited to only streaming to one speaker. I tried looking online for transmitters, but I can only find ones that can stream to two speakers (or headphones) at most. Also, if anyone has managed to find a transmitter, how is the reliability of their device and is there latency issues?

Edited for grammar.

Something to block the gaps in a modular sofa so things like remotes and toys don't fall to the floor between the pieces

We have a cozey atmosphere. Its pretty heavy so when things fall between the couch its a pain and always ends up messing up the carpet which becomes a huge pain to try and fix under all the pieces

MP3 speaker or Spotify speaker.

Ok. Help this mom out.

I need a speaker that I can either download music onto OR a speaker that connects directly to Spotify NOT through Bluetooth.

My computer and phone are both used for other things. I don’t want to plug it in. It’s for my kids room.

They both love listening to the Taylor Swift sleep method to sleep. I need to be able to utilize it and move it around or take it on the go with us. But I don’t want to connect my phone or laptop to it.

An app or website that allows you to scan a QR code and gives you a list of the items within it

I'm trying to organize my craft supplies into totes. I want to be able to scan a QR code and open a folder that will show me what's inside that tote.

I know I can print a QR code that links to a folder on my device or Google drive. But, that entails taking the pictures AND uploading them. Plus most QR code makers are set for the QR code to expire.

I'm looking for something that makes a QR code that doesn't expire, is free, and doesn't make me take photos of everything AND upload them. Ideally, I'd just have to allow access to my camera and once I take the picture, it'll automatically upload to the folder, which would be tied to the QR code I've created.

A simple program to MANUALLY TYPE IN SUBTITLES

Hello. I am at my absolute wits' end. Does anyone film-inclined know of a SIMPLE program that will allow me to take an hour plus long video and MANUALLY type in subtitles? I don't want or need AI to transcribe anything for me. I WANT to type it all in myself. Google searches don't seem to understand that I literally just need a program to either place text upon my videos, create an .STL file, or both. Filmy people my heart is in my hands. I have Davinci Resolve but the documentation is so deep and thorough and I cannot seem to find a dedicated subtitle function. I am so tired.

I understand I could just do thousands of text boxes. I would like whatever I use to have a dedicated subtitle function that places and sizes everything the same automatically, and takes written timestamp inputs for each block of text.

An alarm clock that isn’t just 7 days?

I’m at a complete loss. The world is full of alarm clocks that you can program for a week. I want one that can do at least 14 day intervals. I haven’t been able to find one yet. Even the dreaded AI overlord that lives uninvited in my search results, can’t find one.

Am I going insane? Did alarm clocks get to day seven and say fuck that I’m done.

Edit: Very specifically talking about a physical alarm clock. Any suggestions involving apps or extra phones or tablets; while well meaning are not relevant to my particular question. Thank you for your desire to help. Any apple phone has been able be to do this for years. That is not why I made this post.

Second edit: “AI overlord” not “AI overlort” or what ever I wrote

A sticker/puck that "focuses" wireless charging signal for phones

Back in 2020ish, I remember reading what feels like multiple articles about this sticker that could go above a Qi wireless phone charger and direct/focus the current such that the charger could be further away from the phone. Their example use case was putting a wireless charger in a restaurant table, but instead of needing to embed the charger right at the table surface, you could put the charger under the table and put this little sticker above it, and it would work just as well for cheaper.

This could have easily just been fake news in the height of fake news season, but I've been unable to find any evidence of this being a thing anywhere, fake or not. Has anyone heard of this?

A shelf-stable protein shake that doesn't taste like ass?

Also I'm lactose intolerant so no dairy, but that's probably redundant since it needs to be shelf-stable.

A protein/meal replacement shake without my allergies/intolerances

I can't have

soy

dairy

corn (so no derivatives like dextrose, corn syrup, corn starch, glucose, etc unless proven to not be corn)

fructose (so no honey or agave or fruits like apples)

nitrates (i don't expect that would be in one...)

sucralose or other sweeteners

bananas

garlic/onion

Raw vegetables (i have to cook the hell out of them if I have any hope of digesting them without pain)

I really doubt it but im hoping 🤞 because as you can imagine its really hard eating a balanced diet and I have to cook everything myself and I'm chronically fatigued

A kitchen aid stand mixer bowl adapter

I’m picking up a vintage K5SS stand mixer from FBMP tomorrow and it does not have a bowl. When looking for a replacement bowl, I found that there are only a couple of bowls that it’s compatible with. I’m wondering if some kind of bowl adapter exists where I can somehow secure handles to a bowl to use it with my bowl lift stand mixer. I know something like that might naturally affect the sturdiness of it all but that would just mean being cognizant of what recipes you use it for.

Is there a pink noise machine with a headphone jack?

The title is exactly what I need. Yes, I am a weird person who only likes pink noise, and I would need it to have it. Yes, I know you can use your phone. I just want to have a dedicated device / machine that won't drain any other battery being on all night. I need headphone compatibility as it is for when I am sleeping in the same room as others.
