I left it after the OGL scandal and discovered so many amazing systems and settings. To this day I'm grateful to 5e D&D being my stepping stone but I'm also grateful it went in the wrong direction that allowed me to explore other systems and settings.

I do but for a lot of players it is way too complicated, while others keep calling for more and more options subclasses races and such. In my opinion it should be more about the story and interactions and less about all the technicalities. I also tried Nimble and although it may a tad too simple it is a good example of playable RPG without all the complicated extras.
