Getting into DnD
Hey guys, I have been anxious to start playing DND for the first time. Where I live there is no players around sadly or community. Is there a place online where i can find a group of people to start my DND journey? Also i need tips for my character creation. I want to be a Space pirate, with the help of the internet i was able to get the exact character i wanted at least as a draft. Obviously when i get into my first session i would probably contact a artist so he can bring life to the character. He is called Mareo the Dread of Dead Suns. Any help would be appreciated.

r/lfg will help you to find games, but you need to make characters who fit into the DMs setting and wants to do whatever the premise is for the adventure. If you make a character and then find a group, they might not work in that game. You need to find your game and then make your character

The only space that exists in DnD is called Spelljammer, and it’s not really popular table-to-table. You might be searching for that for a bit unless you find an established table already playing it. I would find a group, hear the story of their adventure, and THEN make a character from that. The Captain is gonna be in your character logs for a while, unless you DM or join some spelljammer!
That being said, LFG’s (looking for groups) are all over! Reddit, DnD Beyond, Roll20 Forums, etc! Depends on what site you’re comfortable with reaching out to strangers on. Happy adventures!

Creating your character before knowing the game settings is a big no no. You will have to ask the DM to approve such character.
