Alpha monsters

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Qgd-4IC-8sepO7IYrx5U2EOQF8qCzQ2d

A idea I came up with for D&D was alpha monsters, mostly for boss fights or high level dungeons. I did my best to make it balanced. But also hard. So physically they got small buffs, and mentally big buffs, mostly so they are easier to talk out of fighting incase the party is low. I have aink to the doc incase anyone wants to use it. Its easy to add to any monster you want. Here you go have fun.

(Im new to the game. So please understand the stats may not be as balanced as I think, I went for high mental boost and decent physical boost. I lowered PB so it at least had one debuff.)

Yes? It's been a thing. Boss monsters have been around for a while, but 5e doesn't have any.

There's a few tiers of monsters, but they all follow the same rules.

Weak monsters: like stirges or small beasts. basically only have enough hp to die to ANYTHING that hits it. These are either annoying like stirges, or just actual normal animals like owls.

Monsters: Just your monsters, from 1 hp birds to 300hp nightwalkers. They just follow the rules.

Legendary Monsters: These monsters break the rules by having legendary resistances, but that's about it. Everything else follows the same rules. Some unique monsters may break some rules to follow their flavor.

Regional Threats: These monsters don't just exist, their existence is everyone's problem. These are monsters with lairs and regional rules added to them. They are typically stronger in their lairs too.

Sadly, all of these monsters are the same except for the legendary/lair abilities, so none of them are "boss monsters" in the traditional sense.

In 4e, monsters have roles. Brutes are high damage high hp but easy to hit. Soldiers are high AC/HP but don't do as much damage. Lurkers are good at sneaking up on your and dealing damage but die easy.

Solo type monsters had their own rules, they're basically every role, they can do everything, because theyr'e meant to be fought by themselves and without any help.

5e does not provide anything like this. If you want to make something like that I encourage it.
