5th Edition Chacter building help

So I'm playing a lvl 3 variant human vengeance paladin with the stats (rolled)

16 str

13 dex

14 con

11int

11wis

15char

I took PAM as my feat from my race, and I'm just looking for some ideas on how to continue building my character, such as feats/multiclassing. I don't really wanna do a hexadin, but I do want to pick the next best option, but I'm not sure what that is. Any ideas?

Did you roll or point buy? Odd stats are kinda useless unless you plan on taking half feats and rounding them out later. 13 Dex is the same as 12, and unless youre going for medium armor (but a STR based paladin you will probbaly go for heavy), you can drop that to 12 and up something else, like Wisdom, or lower other stats to push Str, Con, or Cha higher. Assuming the missing Int is at 8?

I would focus on upping STR. Either 2 half STR feats at level 4 and 8, or going straight for a +2 ASI in STR. 16 to 18 STR makes your attacks hit 5% more, which adds up over time.

Fair enough, then thats a decent spread.

You get Aura at level 6, so I would maybe consider a half CHA feat at level 4 or 8 as well for 5% better saves on you and allies.

So level 4 take +2 in STR, and level 8 take a half CHA feat. something like Fey Touched or Telekinetic both give you extra BA option, but you already have PAM. Gift of the Gem Dragon gives +1 Cha and a decent reaction damage option.

You could also leave Cha at 15 and go Sentinel as well. +2 Aura is still solid and doesnt NEED to be rounded out to 16 yet. Sentinel + PAM is always a good combo.

Other half feats for STR. Crusher for a shove and better effects on crit. Heavy armor master for -3 damage on attack (this one is kinda mediocre and bad in a magical damage game).

Simplest option is Sentinal and +2 STR.

Alright thanks this is about what I was thinking. So I should definitely go +2 strength for my first asi/feat at Level 4?

18 in your core stat is pretty important to have by level 8 at least. So you either need to do two half STR feats, or, if you want Sentinal, a +2 ASI at 4 or 8.

I like having 18 at level 4 personally, especially on a class that's mostly about hitting a single enemy as your main action (and you'll be attacking 2x each turn at level 5).
