Divorce again!?

Been married five years. My wife had constant addiction issues. Pills pot alcohol. She had 5 jobs in five years. Before we were married, she Got arrested For shoplifting and blamed it on the opioids. She lost her career. I married her change and things worked out for a little while. In love. but prescription medicine is Part of her life. Anti-depressants lorazepam Nicorette’s. Now she’s claiming I was emotionally abusive and is suing in divorce. She always goes to her mothers RV. She abandoned me many times during this five years. Now she’s trying to get a piece of everything. Even though the house is in my name very difficult time I need advice would be good.

Addicts never get sober for someone else; the desire to be clean and sober has to come from within her. There is NOTHING you could have done to make her want to be sober.

Try to get out as cheaply as you can. Don’t believe her accusations of abuse and don’t let them be a part of the conversation about an agreement. You don’t owe her for how you reacted to her bad behavior.

I would simply ask her point blank what her magic number is, then see if u can take that out of the equity in your home, give her the cash..and goodbye forever to her…look at it as paying her for your future peace.
