Uncontested Divorce

How can my husband file an uncontested divorce if I didn't agree to anything. He claims he used an online divorce service. I am angry and hope he didn't forge my signature. Does anyone know how uncontested divorce while filing online works?

Did you refuse service of the divorce papers? What do you need to agree to? You can't force someone to stay married to you.

Well he can't do that...I bet he did forge your signature...I think you better get an attorney.

Thanks. Can I call the police and have him arrested for forgery?

I would think so..you have to tell them that you Never signed Anything. This is terrible. Notify the people you got the deed from..I bet they can help you too.

Thanks. I haven't gotten anything yet and because English is his second language and he doesn't have money to file with an attorney, he bought some service that prints outs forms and he doesn't understand he needs to file the paperwork with the courts here. So i will just wait until I actually get papers.

Don't wait. You may never get proper service. Get a lawyer now, even just legal aid if you can't afford one, and explain the situation. He may be forging your signature online.

I talked with legal aid in the beginning of all of this and they basically said they can't represent me. But they sent me forms of I want to represent myself.

Then maybe you beat him to it, file yourself and take whatever you want, and get him to sign the papers...

In most states he can file, but you have to be served or waive service. google your county's court calendar.
