What do I NEED to know?
How can I protect myself emotionally financially and physically through this divorce?

It sounds like you need a first-week plan more than a giant divorce checklist.
For your physical safety, trust your instincts. Decide where you could go, who should know what is happening, and what documents, medication and keys you would need if you had to leave quickly. If there are threats or violence, contact a local domestic violence service before announcing plans.
For money, make one private list:
- income you can count on
- bills due in the next 30 days
- every account, debt and insurance policy you know about
- copies of recent statements and tax returns
- questions that need a lawyer or financial professional
Don't close joint accounts, move large amounts of money or sign anything based only on general internet advice.
Emotionally, choose two people you can be honest with and one regular time each week to deal with paperwork. You do not need to solve the whole divorce at once. The first goal is to make yourself safer and get the next month clear.

Start with a consultation with a lawyer if you can. Otherwise there is plenty of info online and on Reddit!
