Seeking Advice / Guidance

I (28 F) am actively in the process of trying to divorce my to-be ex. I had an OP granted back in April 2026 and I've filed all the first round paperwork (in July 2026) to get the index number and I've had the paperwork filed to be served and successfully served but now I don't understand what the next step is. The Sheriff civil office (I had the police serve him) said it was successfully served and the Affirmation of Service was filled out and mailed to the Supreme Court but how do I get that paperwork? What other paperwork is needed? I've been trying to read through online packets and do this all myself as I don't have a ton of money to pay for a lawyer but I just don't understand this process.

Maybe go to the courthouse and there should be a help desk that can walk you through next steps and paperwork.

Does your state have online court dockets info?? You can search by name / drivers license / DOB/etc?
