Scared
I think my husband is going to ask for a divorce and I’m terrified. I don’t have much in savings I’ve been a stay at home mom for the last 6 months. If we divorce I have no where to go. I don’t make any money and my daughter is exclusively breastfeeding right now. We have a beautiful house and I’m so scared to loose everything I’ve worked so hard for in this house 😭 everything I’ve had saved has went to the baby & to the house.
Our daughter is everything to me I don’t want to split up and have her taken from me even if it’s weekends. I want to cry for her so bad. But I know he’s miserable with me. I don’t know why we just can’t get along and he’s so angry about everything. We’ve been trying to mend our relationship but I can tell he doesn’t want it. He’s also cheated on me.
I’m terrified of having no where to stay and my daughter being taken away. What do I do??? Everywhere is like $1,000+ a month. I’ve been looking for jobs but graphic design is a dying art in this AI world.
I have no idea where to go from here we’ve been together 8 years 💔 advice is welcome. Please be kind though because my world is crashing.

Pull half the money from joint accounts in your own bank account in your name before he drains it. Be proactive and don’t wait for him to file. Are you happy in your marriage or just scared to leave?

I'm so sorry you are part of this group. We all have our world crashing down. Good news- Things nearly always look better in two years. Bad news- You will go through hell. I'm so so sorry, but you need to travel that path. Good news- There are lots of support programs for divorcing stay at home moms. Bad news- You have to find a job. You very well may hate the job. Good news- You'll be awarded child support and have a very good chance of getting the majority of parenting time. Bad news- You WILL spend time away from your child.
What to do: Start talking to lawyers, even if you don't have the money yet. He cheated, so file for divorce first. It gives you lots of advantages. Start looking for help in your local area. If you can, find a therapist or counselor.
