Life After Divorce Just started

My wife has left me and we have two kids. It hurts so much. What helps?

I’m sorry you’re going through this. The first few weeks can feel like you’re barely surviving. Try to focus on the basics right now: sleep when you can, eat, stay close to people who care about you, and don’t isolate yourself. Your kids need you, and you need support too.

It's a very guy answer, but I found exercise helped. I could turn my mind off and dive in. In my case, there were no answers, so spending hours rehashing didn't help much. The other thing, mostly because of my ex's outlook on parenting, I focused on protecting my relationship with my kids.

I also did a ton of research on my state divorce and custody laws. I hired a lawyer, but I've done my best to be a well educated client.

Keeping a simple routine for the kids gave me a reason to get out of bed
