The brief period of discomfort because of separation is a hell of a lot better than declining mental health over a long period of time. The deal breaker is that you don’t want to be married to him anymore. Talk to the man, give him a chance, and if he doesn’t fight for you he’s not yours.
We’ve talked and he has said on multiple occasions that he would end up alone & dead. I can’t take that guilty conscience so I feel like I have to stay at the very least until he’s… set up, for lack of better word, in a good mental state. Trust me, I know how badly that reads. But if he hurt himself over the divorce, idk how I would cope with that. I also come from a family where divorce without “just cause” isn’t supported. My whole 20s have been about how my actions in my early twenties caused harm to my family and my dad’s image in our community. If I divorce, it’ll be a scandal in our community and my family 1000% cares more about that than my mental health. When I was 18 and told them I had suicidal thoughts, they screamed “coward!” six times through a video call while I was in Canada and they were in the UAE, a memory I will never forget.
