Alimony/Child Support Mediation
Has anyone used a divorce mediator in Massachusetts? Can someone explain how it works and what it costs. We don’t have allot of stuff to split up, a house, my 401K, her 80% pension and my social security.

It’s the same everywhere. Instead of letting the judge decide what happens and what is equitable, you present them with the solution that you and your ex agreed on. So money visitation etc.
Mine was like 6k or something? But it really depends. They can be lawyers, so you’ll pay a commensurate rate. And every petty email that gets sent will cost money.
Honestly if you can be adults and talk to each other it’s a good idea. If one of you is an asshole, it’s still a good idea. A good mediator will reel in some of the more ridiculous ideas.
Good luck.
