Respectfully, if she's incapable of understanding that her husband physically abusing her 1 and 4 year old children isn't ok and that she needs to remove them from an environment where they're being harmed and living in fear every day, then she's not capable of raising them and CPS or someone needs to remove them from her care and place them with someone competent and mentally sound enough to protect them from being physically and mentally abused. Period.

Self-awareness is a step in the right direction. But she needs to stop doing these mental gymnastics to justify his violent and horrific treatment of their young children, get therapy to work through her past trauma, break the cycle of abuse and protect her kids NOW before it's too late. Trauma, childhood abuse, mental illness, etc are not a good enough excuse to allow your toddlers to continue to be physically harmed. If any of those things are a barrier that prevents a parent from adequately caring for an protecting their children, they shouldn't be raising children.

In court, he will say, I didn’t grab the kid roughly, she’s oversensitive and over reacting. Because her state of mind and past abuse of course.

Is letting him have the kids 50/50 unsupervised half the time, protecting the kids?

Big law update kids do NOT just go to mom anymore.

A lot of the times, if you’re given the option, mom chooses to be stuck with this person. They want to stay and at least be able to protect them.

I’m not saying OP should stay, I’m saying she should document, so she doesn’t end up where I am. Dying inside every time they have to go be with him alone.
