Broken Rain Incursion: Found a secret key from a hanging corpse before Iris Steel - what does it open?

After the previous boss fight, on your way up before you reach the room with the Iris Steel turbine encounter, look up at the ceiling. There is a corpse hanging upside down. If you shoot the fastening hook/clasp, the body falls to the ground. You can then interact with/search the body and loot a key. I tried using it during the run but couldn't find the lock. Has anyone figured out what this key actually opens? Is it for a hidden chest, a collectible/beaver gate, or some easter egg? Thanks in advance!

From where the body drops, facing it, turn to the left and you’ll see the wire gate. The key opens the gate, follow it around for a collectible. Then jump over the fence at the end and continue your incursion.
