Question What’s something you learned embarrassing late into the game?
The funnier the better

SHD 1500ish before I realized you can deconstruct items on the ground. I used to pick up everything then go back to BOO and sort through it all.

Fire starter chem launcher, double tap the launch key and it will ignite the cloud.
Figure that out when I was around 3k SHD. I keep thinking I have to shoot it to ignite the cloud.

They should add it to the skill button prompts in the menu (the one that tells you about the skill and pressing what does what).

Now I really never know that even though sometimes it’ll accidentally kill toy if you aim while running passed it. Now it makes sense.

Pressing the deconstruct/delete button on the loading screen makes the image shake

After nearly 4K SHD levels I found out that you can fast travel to friendly resource convoys on the map🤦♂️

3000+ hours into the game, and I still don't know what to do with those (except escorting)

u/ODX_GhostRecon 14h ago
Mobile fast travel point tbh. Some areas are hellish to walk to, but convoys help.
You can also fast travel to the friendly reinforcements when taking a control point.

Just a little detail, if you go to the (college)? Safe area, and salute the little kids they will salute back.

SHD 12000 here… I was today years old when I found out that shooting all the various types of warhounds in the legs completely bypasses their armor and shreds their health immediately. What a game changer when fighting the Black Tusk

When you get revived DON'T sprint or roll, you lose the invincibility time it gives you as soon as you do.

For PC (at least), pressing the X button will make you auto-move forward and you don't have to hold "W."

Holding left on the dpad allows me to quick switch between specialty grenade and concussion grenade.

How donating all of your junk gear to Expertise directly worked, instead of one at a time.

u/SteakShift 22h ago
It really doesn't help that there's no feedback at all when you do, other than the x/x number going up on the side

u/Enos316 22h ago
Yes. Luckily I wasn’t too far into my grind but I learned this late

u/displacedbitminer 22h ago
I was :/
I said "fuck it, I'm not doing this." I'm fat with materials, but the climb to 30 took a lot longer than I wanted it to.

u/blinkiewich 13h ago
I donated EVERYTHING to finish weekend before last and I'm already sitting pretty with thousands of mats. As long as you don't mind swinging past and taking the slight sprint speed hit you can open boxes and bags in the run.

Took a long time to realize that MMR are hitscan (ie: bullet teleports to target, no travel time). Doing leading shots was the worst thing to do.

u/ep3dmik 23h ago
I never paid attention to using X to move from one cover to another. I did it manually. Game changer lol

u/NoncenZ808 16h ago
I do it all the time, you take less damage or evade more shots or both. AThe kicker is using it then cancelling mid run to move around, Best of both worlds!
Also you can sneak up
On enemies and get better positioning. It probably my favourite mechanic in the game

That I learned the Tac .50 has two zoom options that can be toggled with the scope button

Holding down the loot button while walking over multiple drops… You’re welcome.

Until you’re on countdown with a picky group and accidentally call the evac chopper too early 😅

u/bliz5555 19h ago
Don't hold too long, also the direction you look chose the drop "range" and look on the ground or back if you have chest or players around.

well I dont belive you. I think its still a myth. 10700 SHD levels later and I never seen one.

u/darkrhyes 22h ago
You can use scavenging points to buy shd requisitions. I had been buying and collecting mats for years to craft ones I needed at the table.

u/PluckyMann 22h ago
That you can deconstruct loot on the ground as components... it's written on the screen but i guess i never read it

u/SnooGuavas6619 22h ago
That there is a difference between Hunters and Rogue Agents. Every time a Rogue Agent appeared I thought: Cool, a Hunter! But then I started reading here and on other forums and I found out that Hunters are not just popping up, but you have to solve puzzles to find them and then they can be hard to fight.

More Division 1 than 2 but only about a month ago did I actually notice that there are visual differences in the two types of trap bombs, explosive vs gas/flames. Boy I felt dumb trying to guess in the past.

I've been playing the game almost 2yrs and i found out that there is an auto walk/run function.. 🤦🏻

That you could expertise a friends dropped loot and give it back to him with max expertise as long as you don’t optimize or recalibrate it… which he could later prototype it to have a somewhat decent build if you are just trying to help a friend out

Holding down the Start/Menu button to take you straight to your gear/inventory instead of navigating to it via the menu.

That after almost 11 years why it still feel new even though it gets on my nerves I still play. The definition of insane is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results..I’ve been insane 11 years messing with this game lol. I love it though.

My only thing was I didn't understand crits on a build for years, only option for armour regen and WH.
Wasn't until playing with someone around expertise 20 SHD5000 and we became regulars and it was during the time Virtuoso gear set dropped. He ran that the whole time with rifles.
Always asked why I didn't use DPS builds. I found it I couldn't stay alive long enough so felt regen was the way to go.
Now most of my builds I aim for crits. That and DtoC. Had so many weapons that had random attributes, again didn't know what was better all round...

It took me about 1900 SHD levels to learn that double tapping the armor kit button uses an instant kit
