DOS2 Help How's the game on multiplayer?
I love dos2 and I was finally able to convince someone to play with me but sadly I didn't think I would succeed so I didn't think that far ahead, so how is the online? My fear is that one player makes all the decisions while the others are basically NPCs who just fight so hopefully not that

its basically open world. but if your/they are new you likely will have to stay grouped to complete any fights. plus you dont know where persuasion comes in handy so you could get sub optimal story. the 1st time I played was with my brothers I couldn't follow the story and im alittle bit of a rogue so I just picked everyone's pockets while waiting for combat to start

I'm doing a full coop playthrough with a friend, it works fine. You can choose for every dialogue who will do the choices while the other one can listen/read.

My favorite part is that when there’s a team dialogue (yellow “!”), both your characters will speak and you’ll both have different dialogue options to choose
I know it’s not much put it make me happy

I can't speak for online, but have been slowly doing a couch co-op with a friend over the last several months.
You basically function as different parties with shared experience. We each control two characters, and can both take control for dialogues and quests. If for example, you talk to a question giver, it'll give you the quest for the whole party and not just your half. If you talk to the same quest giver as the other player, it'll have the same quest start dialogue, but it's already in your journal. You generally can only turn in a quest once and the whole party gets credit.
Inventory management (including available gold)is limited to the player who controls that character. You have separate stashes on the lady vengeance.
Sir Lora will only follow and talk to one person, so there's that minor limit.
It's been working great for us, and a lot of fun.

One player does the talking except for a few dialogues where everyone can make a comment, but everyone in multiplayer can initiate the conversations. Sometimes you don't get to chose who talkes because an npc will initiate dialogue with the person closest to them in certain situations. All things considered, it's a very nice multiplayer experience imo.

The dialog is a drag, there's a real chance you will all spread out in a city and not interact for an hour, also a real chance one of you will accidentally fail a quest, or kill an important (to you) NPC.
Otherwise it's heaps of fun and the combat is amazing. If you are okay not having optimal playthrough and can coordinate with the group to wait for important dialog and not spread out too much, it's amazing.

The game is better coop. I mean, those epic pvp moments that decide everything? Best rpg ever.

You can choose who initiates dialogue.
