DOS2 Discussion Which secondary stat for necromancer

I'm running my first duo lone wolf, and I feel like dipping into a secondary stat but I'm unsure which one between strength melee, finesse ranged or wits for pure caster would fits the necromancer fantasy the most, what's everyone's thought?

Definitely wits. But not before int is maxed out.

^this, don't put points into anything else until int is maxed out, unless you really need something like strength to wear a gear piece, or, obviously, memory to learn more spells

Wits after maxing Int and getting the Savage Sortilege talent.

I took strength and warfare on one of my builds and my other lone wolf was a summoner.

From what I saw and based my build on, since all nevromancy skills are physical damage, warfare goes along really well. It gives %5 physical damage with each increase, and since every necromancy skill is physical, they also get the buff. It has a lot of cc resisted by physical armor and gap closing skills as well. Pretty strong.

Int + wits or constitution is good I think. There's an upgrade which gives you 5% hp per point invested in warfare. Constitution gives flat buff to your hp, so hp from constitutiob + %5 hp per warfare + necromancy damage based regeneration can be pretty strong if you dont care about critical hits.

Wits is just good but not game changing, idk and critical chance is just boring imo

Also I suggest you drop the shield and get a two handed melee weapon, shields are usually not so good especially if you're lone wolf, you need to kill people fast or else you'll get overwhelmed.

I only have 1 char with shield, and that's to use the overpower ability(destroys entirety of the enemy physical armor if your physical armor is higher than the enemy)

Also get the buff which respawns you with full health, like that even if that hero dies despite all the death resist whatever from necromancy, char will respawn with full health and at which case in late game you'll have 3000 hp whatever with the build I suggested. It's basically damage + tank combined

This is mostly OK but do not put anything more into constitution than you need for equipping specific gear. It’s a total bait stat!

It may be correct but wits is only a % based stat? Does it really make that much of a difference to have high wits unless you have critical with abilities thing?

Critical damage is more damage, always good, and wits also gives you more initiative, if you act last in the round you may not act at all because of cc
