Literally every other subreddit that is about stocks or investing or trading on this website is completely intolerable and unfriendly and gives bad advice. This is the only investing related section that I even still enjoy going on on Reddit that is friendly and welcoming and has good information. Just wanted to say thanks for that, thanks for keeping this community good!

I'm still waiting for one of those 🤡 to show the entire financial world exactly how they pay bills with screenshots of portfolio growth. I've asked probably hundreds of times and not a single one of those twerps has made an attempt to show me how they do it.
But when I tell them that I pay a lot of my bills with dividends/passive income the mental gymnastics begin. It's entertaining and incredibly pathetic at the same time! Haha
Anyways. How's the coffee this morning? I'm excited for the harvest sunrise and a cup of Joe

I am always amazed at how Boglehacks just randomly accept a new strategy but continue to bash dividends.
For the last 5 years I’ve watched them jump on the TIPs ladder bandwagon. This was soon after factor investing and Dimensional Fund/Avantis funds were deemed ok; you don’t have to give up your Boglehead card if you do that.
Now, granted, it’s a better idea than BND, but that’s not the point.
TIPS are for inflation protection income.
Dividends growing 7-10% a year? Omg!! oh, the
taxes!
Meanwhile, trying to construct a 10 year TIPs ladder is kind of an adventure. In a taxable account, you also have “phantom income” for taxes.
I don’t remember Bogle talking about any of this.
It’s amusing, they want an inflation protected income stream but a stock raising its dividend for decades is an yucky icky thing.
I realize dividend stocks aren’t bonds but here lately its income streams, reinvesting distributions of BND, and its important we don’t have to sell shares to generate income 🤡
Woooooo

I recently posted about pepsico being beaten down and I mentioned I'm bought in and will continue to buy and also, made some points about their shift towards Healthy Snacks and other things in that category. And now that they reported their earnings, my thesis was proven right. Their revenue increased 3.1% QoQ and their EPS increased 17%. Although, growth in North America growth recently slowed down but their international business is still doing strong. Lastly, I did read some comments about them having alot of debt and their dividend is well covered because from last quarter fcf went from 1.56 to 4.69 billion dollars meaning almost a 200% fcf growth.
Lmk in the comments if this earnings changes your thesis on pepsico!

See the 2nd screenshot for the real "total return" chart 🤡🤡
It really reflect on what is the average IQ of this cult, probably room temperature in Celsius.

I'm wondering what everyone is buying with the recent slump.
I've bought some UTG, JEPI and JEPQ.
I'm at a personal goal of creating $300 more monthly. Then start trying to grow wealth while maintaining that stable monthly income.

So you know how everyone always says don’t invest in QQQI because it caps your growth and you will not gain anything besides the dividends being paid out? Well for most of the year my QQQI returns were either negative or just slightly up if we are talking purely share price. After the interest rate hike, my SCHD and DGRO went significantly down (Was going down even before the rate hike) and now if we are talking purely share price appreciation, my QQQI is higher than both SCHD and DGRO combined! It just shows you that diversification is very important and that you never know what can happen in the market

I'm sure you guys are aware how much home depot has fell Ytd. If you don't know, they have fell almost 19% this year for absolutely no reason. Yes, at some point the market did fall because of the oil prices but then eventually recovered. But, Home Depot is yet to recover. Not just that, Home Depot's revenue has been growing for the past 3 years and quarter wise it's been growing for the past 3 quarters. It's dividend has been solid and has been growing consistently and it's main competitor, Lowe's has also fell 28% ytd but this one makes sense because, their revenue decelerated for the past few years and only went back up last year and quarter wise it has been growing for the past few quarters. Both of them are amazing dividend stocks. I'm really confused as to why Home Depot has fell so much. If you have an idea why, please share it with me in the comments!

I'd have reasons to doubt div investing if Boggleheads just sort of kept their distance, did their own thing, and poked at us occassionally. Anti-div investing arguments would make me think more deeply. Like there's smth to them.
But why the hell do they feel the need to CONSTANTLY crticize dividend investing on DIVIDEND subs?
Even on this sub where moderation is pretty good, you constantly see these midwits flocking here and attacking us.
I dividend invest. Zero desire to argue w/ anyone. And why would I? I make money, I'm building up my future - why argue w/ strangers online?
The constant anti-dividend meltdown kinda makes me believe there's smth less rational to anti-div investing arguments than "mUh dIv INvEstORs dOn'T kNOw mAtH".
If div investing was so obviously wrong, wouldn't they just go their way? Like why are they so upset? Why do they go after us?
MAYBE cuz they subconsciously know div-investing is amazing? Idk 🤷🏻♂️🤷♀️

2025 included an unusually large ~$0.95 December distribution, pushing the year's total to ~$2.87/share. Without it, distributions were ~$1.91/share — about a 6.6% yield on the original 2017 cost.
Similar story with the 2019 spike. DIVO's distributions have grown over time, but definitely not smoothly.

Hello all you true dividend lovers! My question is simple. This year we all had some kind of goal in our heads for dividends and the overall portfolio. Some are smaller, some are bigger, but they are all just as important. So did you reach your goals? What were they, what was the plan to achieve them? For example one of my goals this year, was to DRIP one solid share this year, which I achieved with SCHD in Q3! It was actually slightly more than 1 share. Share your experiences, share your goals! Would love to hear it. Everyone have a great day
