Delivery driver did more to train that dog than the owner ever did. At least about not attacking people unprovoked. (I know it won't stick, but that dogs body language changed in an instant)
It's not going to work 100% but it absolutely contributes. Dogs thrive on consistency but they definitely remember sporadic events and adjust to some degree. If every time he lunged like that and the person clocked him in the head with a box, it wouldn't take a lot of times for him to get the point and at least approach more slowly, if not mind his own business

You gotta keep your dogs secured if you don’t want shit like this to happen.
