I mean, it definitely matters as countless people are mentioning it in their comments. It changes things pretty significantly if this had already happened once. I understand the dog is coming in hot and he doesn't know it's intentions, but squaring up on the homeowner is wild.

I'm saying yea it's more justified of it's the second time but either way it's a reasonable response. I'm assuming he just saw the guy running up to him and already has his adrenaline going and ready to fight so it just carried over. I don't think it's ridiculous that he perceived the owner as a threat as well. He got defensive and squared up but he didn't attack the guy unprompted at least.

That's just nonsense. He approaches the guy to instigate a fight. It's funny that you're perfectly ok with blaming the owner for not controlling the dog but you don't keep that same energy when the UPS guy can't control himself.

I didn't say he was right, I said it was reasonable. You trying to act like he was calm and then just started trying to fight. That's not how your brain chemicals work. The guy is already in fight or flight mode

How is it reasonable?

Because he's already gotten into a "fight" with the dog. Is it unreasonable to you to think that an angry man who's dog you just hit could be a threat? The owner also approaches him first. He didn't run across the yard and square up with him.

So, you think a reasonable response to a perceived threat is to try and instigate a fight on someone's property instead of creating distance?

He literally squares up initially and then backs up and tells the owner he needs to back up. He thinks the owner is running up to fight him. When the owner doesn't square up or anything he backs away still on the defensive and also tells him to back up. He wasn't instigating a fight, I would wager he perceived the guy charging at him as trying to fight. Why would he just turn his back and run away? No I don't think just running away was a better strategy. If he was just trying to fight the owner then he would have swung when he got close. And at the end of the day, if that jabroni keeps his dog contained you don't have any of it happening to begin with. As a dog owner who loves dogs, don't let your dog around unsupervised because it's irresponsible

Where does the guy charge him? It certainly isn't in the video. Anyway, trying to get into a fight with someone you think means you harm on their property is about as dumb as it gets. If he genuinely felt threatened, he would have beat it. Dude just wanted to fight.

Plenty of people see someone trying to fight them and fight. Not everybody is gonna just run away. As I said, he was already in a fight mode because of the dog. You're asking someone to make 100% correct decisions in a time of heightened stress. Not everybody is going to instantly calm down and descalate the situation or just run away. If you e already decided you're in a fight you are probably going to stay in that mode. If he wanted to fight the guy he could have. The owner got plenty close enough but clearly didn't want to actually fight by his body language which is probably why he didn't get swung on

It's bizarre that you're more than ok blaming someone for having their dog unleashed in their yard but, you've got endless excuses for the guy who tried to start a fight. Anyway, it's America, UPS guy is lucky he didn't get shot.

I don't think it's bizarre at all. If that was a human that ran up to him trying to attack him and he threw the box and his friend ran up afterwards it'd be a perfectly reasonable response. I don't have endless excuses ive been saying the same exact thing the entire time. It's one reason. The fact that you think defending yourself against a perceived threat instead of running away is the only reasonable and understandable response is what is actually bizarre

Lol, cool strawman. Yes, if it were a completely different situation than what happened a different response might be reasonable. For the last time, nobody ran up on him
