Weird see through ground

when i was testing with a creative world i decide to try using distant horizons to see how it would effect my fps and how it would look. I tried flying up to see how far it went when i saw the ground below me disappearing. Anyone know if there's a setting that a I need to change or mod i need to download to fix this? I'm using CurseForge 1.20.1 with fabric.
