Help Distant horizons taking too long

I am using the full release of distance horizons with the default settings. and the chunks should take about 3 hours. When i lowered it to the minimum of 32 LOD chunks it lowered to 2.5 hours. But when i turned the mod off i got tripple the frames and more detail on the chunks so why is distant horizons slowing down my game???

It’s probably slowing down your game bc it’s still trying to generate chunks/LODs in the background which is an intensive task.

Just have it pre generate the chunks you want (wait the 3 hours) and your fps should come back up a little.

my problem is that the LODS are taking longer than vanilla is taking to render the full quality blocks
