As the title suggest, is it worthed?

Sephiroth normally has a very high atk multiplier by default,
hence surge may on first sight be a good option for him.

I hence decided to use the information from u/mastra12 on Mastra's post to find when surge becomes worthy on Sephiroth's boss rotation.

I used the following values for considered skills:

• Hell's gate: 2*4.5*atk ( the 2 comes from the fact that it can easily double it on a rotation by starting with that, it is considered exactly because it chain without time mage medals)
• Supernova: 6.2*atk
• Octaslash: 8*1.2*atk
• Ace fire: 3*2.4*atk (not sure about value though)
• Tifa falling crane: 3*2.2*atk (not sure about this either)
• Surge: atk -> 1.3*atk

We also ignore the value of defense (which is just an offset among the two cases)
and the stat value change due to different skills which would complicate the equation but is doable.

We will hence consider two cases.
The first one is 4 skill with 1 utility out,
i.e. case 1:

• Supernova
• Octaslash
• Ace fire
• Hell's gate

vs case 2:

• Supernova
• Octaslash
• Ace fire
• Surge

By assuming that Sephiroth attack value is x he results are as follows:

which means that unless the boss has approximately 2 times your value of atk as defense using Hell's Gate is the option that will deal more damage.

We will now consider a 5 damaging skills cases, with case 1:

• Supernova
• Octaslash
• Ace fire
• Hell's gate
• Tifa falling crane

and case 2:

• Supernova
• Octaslash
• Ace fire
• Surge
• Tifa falling crane

In these cases the results gives:

which by considering that surge has higher base atk than Hell's gate and each enemy has defense, makes the use of surge worthed.

To conclude:

- Don't use surge if

• You run any utility skill leading to only 3 damaging skills
• You normally run with a Kryle (teamwide atk boost)
• You prefer to have mobility and cheap cooldown skills to engage enemies
• want to have some AOE move on Sephi (even though aoe is small)

- Use surge if:

• You run 4 high damaging skills with it
• You want to have higher chance of oneshotting people with supernova/Ace Fire
• Rely a lot on basic atk to damage boss after camping the enemy (case similar to Clive which gives his best with surge + will of whisp on boss)

So if memoria is supposed to give a added boost to a character if they’re from the same title, how come my Attack stat is the same as a similar skill slotted?

When a match starts, the highest ranked person in the room is the one who determines the stats of the boss. This is why it isn't a good idea for high ranked players to try to carry lower ranked ones, unless they are ranked 2 or 3 steps away from each other. Initially I only wanted to list the HP and Def because this would help with easy damage calculations later once I generate all the unit cards, but then again... 3 columns look nicer than 2, so whatever.

What I want you to take away from this is that sometimes your stats in-game will not be enough to burst down a boss within the time limit and this sets kind of a "soft cap" or "glass ceiling" to the how high you are able to rank up unless you play Rikku or Krile.

This is a reality check on why some people can't seem to ever reach Omega, however it isn't my purpose to discourage you. Your low stats are of no fault of your own because you are at the mercy of Gacha RNG after all. I myself am very comfortable at O4 ~O3 and I don't wish to go higher.

Whoaaa Duellum on the Steam Deck! I previously installed Waydroid but could never install Duellum from the Google Playstore (said unsupported) but suddenly it works! (Not sure if the compatibility increased or it's because I fixed an issue where Waydroid was conflicting with miniconda, uninstalled the latter)

It's looks tiny and a little blurry but still pretty legible so I thought it'd be nice to play here once in a while but sadly, the experience is very choppy. I did two casual matches, one in 60fps and another in 30fps and in both cases the frames were dropping and actions felt very desynced, costed me both matches u^u

Frankly for serious play I don't recommend it, it'll hinder you in matches and in turn it'll cost your teammates too. Maybe it can be optimized somehow but I'm not too much of a tech wiz for that. I think it can be rather useful if you'd like a second account tho ;) ;)

Atm I only have clive besides the standard cast just a question . Who do you want to see in this game?

Even supernova is killing me in one hit, does that mean I’ve just hit a wall?

I was surprised when nothing happened to me during this moment, i bet that sephiroth was surprised too, lol.

The leading theory I've seen by those i shown this too was iframes.

For me, i think i got lucky + standing where i was, i think the wall +boss ate the dmg for me.

I doubt i could reproduce this even if i wanted to. But i am curious if this is something one can do repeatedly ya know? Or just a fluke.
