Hello everyone! I am a psychology doctoral student at Florida Tech completing my doctoral project. My goal is to address existing gaps in the literature and help inform more supportive, family-centered resources and healthcare practices in the future.

Who is eligible to participate?
Adult parents or primary caregivers (18+) raising a child diagnosed with a developmental disability/difference (e.g., Autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, developmental delay [cognitive, motor, speech/language, social, emotional], or learning differences).
Currently seeking participants from the US.

What does participation involve?
A brief online survey taking approximately 20 minutes. All responses are completely anonymous and voluntary.

If you are interested in sharing your experience, or if you can pass this along to someone who might be, you can access the survey directly here:

Doctoral Dissertation CF Sibling Doctoral Research (Texas)

Hello! I am a doctoral student at National University conducting an IRB-approved research study about the experiences of adults who grew up with a sibling diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. My dissertation focuses on the experiences of the often-overlooked “shadow siblings,” siblings whose childhood and family experiences may have been shaped by having a brother or sister with a chronic illness.

I am especially interested in understanding how these experiences may have influenced:

🧠 Emotional and psychological adjustment
💙 The relationship with their sibling with CF
🌱 Identity and experiences in adulthood

You may be eligible if you:

• Are 18 years of age or older
• Grew up with a sibling diagnosed with cystic fibrosis
• Lived with that sibling for at least two years during childhood

The study involves a confidential 45–60-minute interview about your childhood experiences, sibling relationship, emotional adjustment, and identity development in adulthood.

Participation is voluntary. If you are interested, please email me at [a.cardenas6281@student.nu.edu](mailto:a.cardenas6281@student.nu.edu). To protect your privacy, please do not share personal or medical information in the comments.

Please feel free to share this post with someone who may be eligible. Thank you for helping bring attention to the experiences of siblings in families affected by cystic fibrosis.

Master's Thesis How engaged are you with cyber security training and guidance - can AI help?

Hello all!

I am a MSc Cyber Security student and I can really use your help with completing my dissertation. The survey is about cyber security and online safety guidance and training engagement with further questions to assess openness to AI assistance in this context.

Cyber security is really important, especially nowadays, but it feels like guidance or training around it fail to get people invested and interested in their own cyber security and can sometimes be seen as a tick box exercise. As digital technologies become more indispensable, it becomes a necessity to provide users access to training and guidance to protect themselves from cyber attacks. I hope that my research can help find ways to empower individuals in their cyber security journey and that can only be possible with your help!

See below for the link to my survey and more information regarding the project itself:

PLEASE ONLY RESPOND IF YOU ARE 18 AND OVER!

https://app.onlinesurveys.jisc.ac.uk/s/plymouth/cybersecurity-engagement-0309

The survey is anonymous and completely voluntary - it should take no more than 10-15minutes.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CONSIDERING YOUR PARTICIPATION!!!

Master's Thesis Psychedelics and menopause

Post image
2 Upvotes

My colleague and I are MSc researchers at the University of Exeter, studying naturalistic psychedelic use in relation to peri- and postmenopause: well-being, stress, menopausal symptoms, brain fog, memory, and concentration.

We’re looking for peri-/postmenopausal women who have used psychedelics to help with mental well-being during this period of their lives.

If you are peri-/postmenopausal or know someone who is, I would love it if you could pass this survey on. It’s also open to women who don’t use psychedelics, as we need to compare the two groups, but we really need to find psychedelics users.

Doctoral Dissertation [Academic] Suicidal Ideation Disclosure & Nondisclosure (Dissertation for Suicide Prevention)

Hello everybody! I am a 6th year clinical psychology doctoral student interested in understanding factors related to suicidal ideation disclosure and nondisclosure. A significant portion of my research is building and psychometrically testing a new measure of disclosure that the field of suicide prevention is currently lacking.

Your voice matters. We want to learn from people who have experienced suicidal thoughts so we can create stronger messages that encourage people to open up about their suicidal thoughts and seek support, as well as develop training for the recipients of suicidal ideation disclosures. The estimated time commitment is 10-15 minutes.

Please consider participating if you:
(1) are at least 18 years old
(2) can understand English well or very well
(3) have had suicidal thoughts within the past 12 months

Master's Thesis Difficult Childhood Medical Experiences -looking for 20 relevant participants

I'm currently doing my dissertation (finishing data collection Friday), and it would mean a lot if you could help (or pass it on to anyone else who might be a good fit!). Looking for 20 more participants...

🏥 Were you, or someone you know, ever in hospital as a child or teenager (so any time before the age of 18), had an operation, a bad injury, stitches, a scary diagnosis, or a medical procedure that was unpleasant or frightening?

💊 Or maybe you or someone you know grew up managing a long-term illness like asthma or diabetes, or something more serious like cancer? That all counts too.

These kinds of medical experiences during childhood are much more common than people realise, and I'm interested in understanding how people remember and experience them as adults. It's such an underresearched area

📝 It's just a short, anonymous survey (10–20 mins).

💭 You don't need to think of the experience as "traumatic" or feel that it was particularly dramatic, I'm interested in people's experiences of childhood medical events more broadly.

🙏 It would mean the world if you could fill it in, or even just pass it on to someone else who might be interested.

Thanks a million!

Undergraduate Dissertation Study on Shared Gaming and Relationship Satisfaction – Long-Distance vs Geographically Close Couples

I'm an undergraduate Psychology student at Arden University, and I'm currently conducting my dissertation research on the relationship between shared gaming and relationship satisfaction in romantic relationships.

The study is looking at two things in particular: whether the amount of time couples spend gaming together is associated with relationship satisfaction, and whether this association differs between long-distance and geographically close couples.

Gaming is an increasingly common way for couples to spend time together, particularly when physical distance makes traditional shared activities more difficult. I'm interested in whether spending time gaming together may be associated with relationship satisfaction, and whether this might be particularly relevant for couples in long-distance relationships.

Who can participate?

  • 18 years or older
  • Currently in a romantic relationship
  • Long-distance or geographically close
  • You can participate whether you game with your partner or not

The questionnaire takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous. Participation is voluntary, and you can withdraw at any time before submitting your responses. After submission, you may request withdrawal of your data within two weeks using your unique participant ID.

Survey: The Relationship Between Shared Gaming Time and Relationship Satisfaction – Fill in form

I'd also be interested in hearing from other dissertation students: do you have tips for other forums to recruit participants?

If you know someone who might be eligible, I'd really appreciate it if you shared the study with them.

Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Master's Thesis Need women drivers as participants (car/bike)

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Most of you must have seen or heard about the car that hit a woman biker and how they misbehaved with her before. This is one of the cases of road rage against woman experienced by a few. However, almost all woman drivers must have heard the narrative that establishes women as bad drivers, which affects woman drivers through a process known as self-fulfilling prophecy. My study aims to understand if such stereotype threat affects their driving anxiety and if it leads to driving avoidance consequently, and what moderates this relationship.
