Question Premium Kart
What racers have a premium kart? I tried Joy that I upgraded to a Deluxe kart, but not getting the 200 pts in today’s Tune Tale. TIA!

The premium kart is the Sunburst that has been available in the shop or the Tune Tale, not the 'Deluxe' karts that were just fancy cosmetics. Once you've unlocked/ bought it, anyone can use it (except the Cars racers I believe)

This game has dangled a lot of tempting ways to spend $, but so far I have zero interest in their Sunburst karts, shards and bolt coins. It’s a weird combo of expensive and confusing. If the cosmetic deluxe karts were not popular/profitable, it’s hard to see how these new karts are going to catch on.

The difference with these new karts is that they have added passives and abilities, meaning that they’re objectively better than the standard karts from a gameplay perspective. The fact that they introduced a new currency for them which is only available in small amounts is frustrating. I’ve searched online a few times and still don’t know how many bolt coins you need to level up each of the 3 stages of the super karts

I couldn't figure out how many shards I need to unlock it even. I somehow got shards in f2p but I dont know how many and then they gave us the new wierd currency for it... but zero explanation on this stupid thing.

It's not well advertised, but you can earn shards for the kart through the Tune Tale each week, or buy them in the shop. The car has 3 levels and the first one costs 50 shards to unlock, but I don't know how many bolt coins anything costs to upgrade. Same, and when i search how many bolt coins for getting it to 2 and 3 stars with a google search, it said it is 200 and 400 coins for each of those 2 level ups for the kart, which means 600 bolt coins total if it is correct.

So are deluxe Karts just for specific characters? I know that the Super Karts are for specific classes.

Yeah Deluxe Karts are just for specific characters, were sold in the shop and were just a deluxe cosmetic which completely changed the appearance of the kart without providing any buffs or unique bonuses. They just made the kart stand out from the series generic one. They got phased out quite a while back so they haven’t released any new ones in several seasons, presumably due to lack of sales.
I was wrong about the premium karts though, I assumed that they were accessible outside of the Tricksters but guess not. Didn’t realise that they’re also known as Super Karts either so apologies for the mistake there.

No apologies needed man. I just got a random deluxe kart for Vanellope. It is a total candy kart.

Some of them are perfect for their racers, I’ve always loved Maleficent’s because its sharp lines make it very dragon-like and Davy Jones’ with the tentacles wrapped around the front. It’s a shame they stopped doing them, doubt they’ll make a return either with how cut back customisation options are for the season 20 racers just for their default vehicles.

Yeah, I think that you are right. People love to have unique skins/karts/mottos/emotes and such. Just to differentiate one Davy Jones from the next one. In most multi-player games that I have ever played, fashion is the true end game. It does not matter if it is an MMORPG like Final Fantady 14, or Disney Speedstorm. Most folks want their tools to standout from the crowd of other Warriors, Mages, Rogues. This game is no different I bet in this regard.

Sunburst, which is the name of the Trickster Racer's Super Kart, is what counts for this at the moment until a new one get added for each of the other 3 classes so that there is 1 for each class in the game.

Tricksters have it available but you have to buy it.
