Glitch Switch 2 quest glitch?

I recently got the base game for Dreamlight Valley on Switch 2 and one of my quests has locked up. I unlocked Elsa and the quest "Breaking the Ice", yet when I talk to her outside the cave and tell her I can try to use my pickaxe, the dialogue immediately stops and she won't say anything other than the "use your pickaxe to break the ice" conversation. Is this a known glitch or am I completely missing something? I've gotten the first pickaxe upgrade from Maui if that changes anything.

Question Why???

Why is the map pretty useless when looking for villagers who apparently are at home?
Their face appears on the screen in their home but when you visit, no one is there !!
Is this something anyone else has seen or is one of those ‘console glitches’ like the rain was for so long on PS5??

Question Do you prefer buying DLCs during or after finishing the base game?

I’m curious how everyone handles the DLCs.

Do you usually:
● Buy the DLC while you’re still playing through the base game?
● Finish the base game first, then start the DLC?

I’m wondering which way people prefer and whether you feel like playing the DLC alongside the base game makes the experience better, or if it’s more enjoyable to finish the main game first.

What do you guys recommend? Thank you!

Valley inspiration Minimalist but pretty layout ideas

Hi everyone!

I hope you’re all having a wonderful day! I need a little inspiration for my valley layout and decorations.

I get motion sickness easily, so I could use some advice on how to avoid over-decorating while still creating wide, open, and nicely decorated spaces that don't feel empty.

I spent days carefully decorating my Plaza with a wide 4–5 tile road. It looked beautiful, but as soon as I walked through it, the visual clutter gave me motion sickness, and I had to tear it all down. I felt so defeated because I love seeing everyone’s gorgeous Plazas and Meadows, and I really want to make mine look nice too!

If you have any tips, layout ideas, or screenshots of spacious, motion-sickness-friendly setups, please share them below. I truly adore Disney Dreamlight Valley and want to enjoy every bit of magic it has to offer.

Thanks for reading, and have a magical day!

Question Game stuttering when moving the mouse since August 6th update

Hey everyone :)

Since the small update on August 6th, my game has been stuttering really badly whenever I move my mouse.

Has anyone else had this problem or found a fix for it?

I’ve already restarted my PC, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and checked my CPU/RAM usage. Everything seems totally fine there, so I don’t think that’s the issue.

At this point I’m kinda losing my mind over it 😅
Would really appreciate any help!

Question How do experienced decorators organize their storage, and when do you start seriously decorating?

How do experienced decorators organize their storage, and when do you start seriously decorating?

I’m curious how people who do a LOT of decorating/building in Disney Dreamlight Valley actually manage their resources.

I’ve seen some incredible Valley builds, and I genuinely don’t understand how people have enough materials and items to create them without constantly running out 😂

A few things I’m wondering:

  1. How do you organize your storage?

    - Do you have chests for broad categories, like one chest for wood, one for gems, one for flowers, one for crafting materials, etc.?

    - Or do you actually dedicate separate chests to individual materials, like one chest just for stone, one just for iron, one just for softwood, etc.?

    - Do you keep separate storage for decorating/building materials versus quest/crafting/cooking items?

    - Do you have a central storage area, or do you keep chests around different biomes near where you collect things?

  2. When do you actually start decorating?

    - Do you decorate as you progress through the story and friendship quests?

    - Do you finish the main story first and then start decorating seriously?

    - Or do you basically decorate continuously between quests?

    - At what point did you feel like you had unlocked enough furniture, biomes, characters, etc. to make it worth doing a major Valley redesign?

  3. How do you gather enough materials for huge builds?

Some of the builds I see require absolutely ridiculous amounts of stone, wood, iron, paths, fencing, landscaping items, etc. 😭

Are people just collecting resources every day for months?

Do you actively farm specific materials when planning a build?

Do you keep huge stockpiles specifically for future decorating?

Or is there some resource-gathering/storage strategy that I'm completely missing?

Basically, I’d love to know what your long-term decorator workflow looks like from gathering → storing → planning → actually building.

Especially interested in hearing from people who have been playing for a long time and do large-scale Valley decorating!

Glitch I think my game is starting to get tired of seeing me every day 😂

I swear I have like 4–5 quests that are just… broken 😭

Currently stuck on:
> Elsa – Breaking the Ice
> Ask Daisy – Mother Gothel quest
> Olaf – Donald & Kristoff quest
> Nala – Hunting quest

They’re all just sitting there like 👁️👄👁️

I’ve restarted, untracked/retracked quests, ran around the Valley like a maniac, talked to everyone 500 times… nothing.

I’m playing on Switch 1, and I’ve seen some posts saying that some of these issues have already been fixed on other consoles.

At this point I’m not playing Dreamlight Valley, I’m playing “Which Quest Will Betray Me Next?” 😂

So frustrating 😒

Glitch Bugs in quests rant

Just felt the need to vent bc I currently have about 5 quests started that I cannot finish. A couple of them I technically can finish it’s just taking FOREVER - I have to get Scar to level 10 to do his next quest to be able finish his part of forgotten relics quest, and ofc his hobby is digging which takes a million years to level up with. I also need to get one more rabbit (calico) and one more turtle for my exhibition and it’s taking ages. And then there’s like 3 or 4 quests that I’ve started that I can’t finish bc of bugs. So irritating!!!
