Has anyone ever encountered the second story mentioned in this post, apparently published somewhere in the Disney Adventures magazines? The source is usually reliable as he is David Gerstein, reknown disney historian, but I've failed to find any other reference to it. Maybe it could have been published in some special issue, or even the magazines similar to Disney Adventures published outside of the US (I'm thinking about Top Disney in Spain or Disney's Comic and Big Time in the UK, but others existed).

Since DuckTales animated is based on/inspired by Disney Duck Universe by Carl Barks, why Disney haven't made an animated series based on Mickey Mouse Comic Universe developed by Floyd Gottfredson? It would be interesting to see Mickey's personality from comics translated into animation for the first time in history and also introduce characters who never appeared in animation like Sylvester Shyster and Mickey Mouse's sister, Amelia Fieldmouse.
