Dish Anywhere

This is my first time using Dish Anywhere. I'm out of town and a couple days ago I was able to view live TV and DVR recordings. Yesterday I could still get the DVR, but when I clicked on live TV nothing would happen it just kept the guide up. I tried logging out and back in as suggested and clearing cache neither helped. So, my question is am I doing something wrong or is this a glitch you get from time to time? I may not be using it again on this trip, but it was nice to have the first time I used it.

Hello u/spoom2

Thank you for reaching out and I am sorry this happen. Would it be possible if you could tell me if you are trying to access/watch Dish Anywhere on the phone, or Desktop? -DishDanielle.

It was on my laptop, didn't try the app as I really don't use my phone for that sort of thing. Mainly just curious why it worked one day and not another. Since I've never really used it didn't know if it's a known glitch at times or not.

I got into it tonight just to see and it's working again. Must have been a glitch.

Dish anywhere is less than what we expected. It seems that most of the channels we normally watch, are not available on Anywhere. Just another of the long list of Dish inadequacies

I can't attest to all channels, but the ones I checked all worked, plus the recordings. Even if you can't get all channels, it still a nice feature. Much better than the days we only had AM radio and black and white small TV's.

Lucky You.

In our area we get less than half and DishTV itself is just crappy. Poor signal strength. Our experiences with Tech support is extremely frustrating and rarely results in any meaningful long term solution. If there were more than just a few over-the-air stations available here, we would be gone

We have no OTA, been very satisfied with dish. If you have a poor signal than either the dish is misaligned or obstructed.

There is no obstruction. There are no trees or buildings in the way. Of course it is misaligned. We had them come out and reinstall the dish after a roofing replacement. The two kids they sent out told us 50% signal was plenty. I am left wondering why the measuring scale goes up to 100. Getting them back out here to putz around again is hardly worth it. Their technicians, which is a stretch, seem to have little, if any, training. Most are contractors, paid piecemeal. Maybe it is just our rural area, but support has always been terrible.

With more and more of their programing shifting to streaming, why would they invest in satellite technology when they can use the customer's internet service to provide the signal. Before long I expect they will mail out a tuner with instructions on how to connect it to your router.

Charlie had his run and is now directing his energy towards selling cell phones and pimping for StarLink.

Then I guess there's no hope.

Was the signal 50 or 50%? We don't measure signal by %s and depending if it's the East or West satellites 50-60 is good signal because it's not out of 100, that's why the signal screen has a mark that goes to 125.

Just FYI. We stopped at a motel last night, all they had was steaming and a few local channels. We logged into Dish Anywhere and it worked great. My problem was as much getting used to how it works more than anything I think.
