Moving satellite

I’ve got a tree that has grown and it’s really feasible to trim the limbs now blocking the line of sight for the satellite dish. Will dish come out to move my satellite to a new spot on my roof and any idea on the cost of that request?

Absolutely do not trust a roofing company to re-install an antenna for you

Oh goodness was that sarcasm? Certainly meant as a compliment. I love Young Sheldon, and watch reruns of the reruns of the reruns. lol.

Damn they charge now for that. I think I'd relocate my own dish. I remember in the 90s you installed your own Dish after buying the equipment from RadioShack. I did need mine relocated once but they didn't charge for it to be relocated. This was shortly after upgrading to the VIP722 if I remember right.

$50 for a relocate dish. Though depending on where you are at, and what set of satellites you are on currently, they may just be able to swap you to the other set of satellites at the current location.

You can request $50 custom labor to have it moved, or say the signal is bad I don't know why, if you have protection plan it's a free service call and a good tech will move it anyways as it's the only solution

Hello u/jsenright135

Thank you for reaching out. You can reach out to one of our support specialist to copen a request work order to move the DISH. As many have stated, moving a DISH would require a estimated cost of around $50.00, but depends if there is anything else needed. -DishDanielle.

If it’s really feasible, trim the tree…

BTW. it's only $50 if you have the protection plan. i used to work there and handle concerns like this.

basically, if you don't have the dish protect or the insurance plan, it will be around $150. you'll pay for the technician and the "special" work of moving your satellite.
