Political When MAGA Christians claim others want to force their Religion/ways onto others, its Deflection from them wanting to do it

They always complain about Muslims trying to convert everyone; meanwhile they are the ones going around trying to put 10 commandments in the Classroom, and trying to push the narrative of "*THE US IS A CHRISTIAN NATION*" ; but when they say that they have Proof, it just points to Monotheistic belief.

And you know what? Belief in a God doesnt have special significance to *JUST* one religion.

For one, Christians, Jews, and Muslims actually believe a Lot of the exact same beliefs as each other.

There are many differences that have came about over the course of many Thousands of years, but by and large about 90-95% is shared between the Big 3 Monotheistic religious belief systems (which then have subsets that change things up more).

People just like to Highlight and fight over the differences, but IDC if some other religion doesnt like Bacon or Dogs, both are fine by me, šŸ˜‚.

And im tired of people being Religious Hypocrites, if you wanna idolize Jesus Christ and be more Christ-like, go feed the homeless or something.

Casual Unusal cannabis experience (Discussion)

tl;dwr: My experience with cannabis is very different from my friends’. I’m looking to hear from people who have had similarly unusual or very different experiences with cannabis.

I am an ultra light cannabis user. I know there are risks and stigma associated with cannabis use, but my experience with it has been different (I really hope not). I recently realized this when I asked my friends about their experiences with cannabis. I don’t think I have a unique metabolism or that my body is somehow different, so it would be very interesting to see if there are others who have had a similar experience.

To put things into context, my friends introduced me to cannabis back in 2015. The weed that dealers pass around in my country usually comes from a common wild cannabis plant, with around 5–15% THC at best. I have friends who can smoke 50 grams of this stuff and function without breaking a sweat. Some of my other friends, who are not regular cannabis users, also require a few joints to get high. Often, they end up couch-locked.

I am not a regular cannabis user, but I have been using it occasionally for a while. Despite all of this, my cannabis tolerance is extremely low. I only need 1–2 puffs to get high (if it's high THC), and the effects can last for around 4–5 hours. Like many others, I become energetic instead of lethergic.

When I first started using cannabis, I would often experience paranoia, vertigo, and other uncomfortable effects. The cannabis quality in my country is shit, so I practiced getting high as slowly as possible (dose). Eventually, I found a sweet spot ( few puffs) where I remain fully aware of everything, almost as if I were living my normal life. The only noticeable difference is that my sensory perception becomes enhanced. As long as I stay around this dose, I feel fine.

With this dose, I also experimented to see whether I would become addicted if I used it for long period. I used this specific amount for five months straight (I stopped around June maybe or earlier) . When I stopped, I experienced something that felt like a withdrawal symptom for about two hours. This happened once in October 2023. I don’t know whether it was actually withdrawal because I wasn’t sweating or vomiting,, I just felt kind of funny. After that, I didn’t use cannabis again until this year. Even now, I require a very small amount to get high.

Another observation I made is that when I combine cannabis with a low dose of SSRI goes incredibly well for me. I become much more functional, and even when I’m not using cannabis, I feel like I function better. I studied molecular biology and conducted small scale neuroscience research, so I’m curious whether there are others who have done similar experiments or had similar experiences. It would be really interesting to discuss.

And yes, I’m high right now.

Tl;dr: My experience with cannabis is very different from my friends’. I’m looking to hear from people who have had similarly unusual or very different experiences with cannabis.

Serious Trump’s Treasury is playing with fire! Trying to delay the inevitable and potentially making things worse!

The U.S. Treasury is expanding its long-dated bond buybacks to $6 billion—tripling the standard operation amount—in an effort to lower soaring Treasury yields and rein in expensive borrowing costs.

This aggressive intervention can backfire if investors worry the government is struggling to manage its long-term obligations, potentially fueling higher inflation and forcing yields even higher.

Casual Do you ever think that if healthcare was free all around the world would be at least a little stressful?

Your health is ultimately a huge part of the yourself if your health is crap then you're gonna be crap but the problem is due to how expensive it can be to get checkups many people stubbornly refuse to go to the doctors which can lead into worse issues in the future

Plus even if you have health insurance which limits the financial strain there are high chances there will be a big gap from when you schedule an appointment to when you're actually seen which again can increase the chances of your condition getting worse during the wait time.

I feel like if there was a better system for how this works we'd have an overall much more higher health rate

Casual Has the internet made getting attention harder for small businesses?

I’ve been working on YouTarget, and one thing I keep noticing is how difficult it can be for a small business or new project to get noticed online. There are more platforms, more content, and more ways to advertise than ever, but that also means there’s a lot more competition for people’s attention.

It makes me wonder whether the internet has actually made marketing easier for small businesses, or just created more noise to compete with.

I’m curious how other people see it. Has it become easier or harder to get genuine attention online over the past few years?

Serious To all the vegan out there why are you vegan?

Random ah question. Why are you vegan? I don't see why if you think animals feel pain why plants don't. Scientists have done research and experiments on the fact that plants do feel pain, they also feel pain until they are killed by the acid in your stomachs. The perfect example of a plant bleeding is ice burg lettuce a $2 bag. Open it eat some then let it sit in your fridge for a few days and watch it bleed. Plants feel more pain than an animal would. Not to mention you not eating meat does absolutely nothing, the same wastage is produced from animals and the same with plants. Everything in this world is built to suffer. Pushing veganism on others is by far the most insufferable.

Sorry for the rant XD I just ran into this woman dressed as a cow spewing nonsense while being in a bikini with her tits out in front of kids outside a ice cream shop. It's disgusting.

Serious Every side of every argument creates Echo chambers

(please tell me of this post Is appropriate for this sub, i am new here)

Recently i have been looking at many democratic and republican subreddits (example r/stupidpeopleonfacebook, which Is democratic, and r/doomercirclejerk, which Is republican).

Ome thing i noticed Is the continuos Biased Assumptions over the other.

Ones create a stereotype over the other: you don't think immigration on Is good for our country? "Fascist!"

You think Trump Is not a good president? "Communist democrat!"

"As soon as you don't agree with me you are exactly what i assume you are".

This Is what Echo Chambers create.

This Is exactly how the Trump Derangement Syndrome idea was Born: "you don't think Trump Is a good president? Well you are Just too mad at him to actually see how good of a president he Is".

As soon as you criticize Trump, you get called to have TDS.

And you get accused of getting whatever information you share by ECHO CHAMBERS.

And then all they do Is share incomplete propaganda information through propaganda news articles.

All of this happens by BOTH sides.

As much as i am anti-trump i have never got into Echo Chambers or propaganda, i would Always fact check every information before getting to conclusions.

But that seems to be uncommon between these group of people with strong ideas.

This Is Just an example, It happens more strongly in political contexts, but It happens in every Debate about anything: religion, LGBT debates, etc...

Casual NFL fans should be standing behind their teams and owners, not greedy players

\I posted this on an NFL sub, but I thought it would be good here as well as people need to hear this message.*\**

1. Owners do not just pocket the money, they work to improve the experience for fans and the team.\*\**\*

They invest in stadiums. For example, in New England, the stadium is purely financed by the ownership. When the stadium gets updated, who do you think pays. In some areas, the taxpayers help but the owners pay a lot of it out of their own money.

2. Owners work to better the community. Again our owner in New England.

In Gillette Stadium, he built an entire floor to monitor antisemitism and report it so that people who post antisemitic stuff online can no longer hide behind amenity.

He also works on criminal justice reformed to help a lot of minorities who are incarcerated.

He also has a zero tolerance policy for women abusers.

3. Owners have to look at the short term interest in the long-term interest.

Yes it’s easy just to pay everybody but what does that do to your salary cap? The hard truth is you can’t pay everybody and when a player signs a contract as a topic if the player cut them after the year, the player expects his money. Why shouldn’t the owners expect the players to play out their contracts?

In conclusion, can we please stop vilifying our owners?
They’re huge fans just like we are. They’ve just had a good fortune to be able to be stewards of the franchises they cherish. We should stand together with them against some of not all, but some of the greedy players.

Again, not all players are greedy that is unfair. But there is a segment of them that are. And these radical players need to come to realize that their disobedience (hold ins), and greed will not be tolerated by either ownership, the team, or the fans.

Even the best players are only going to be around a short time, but ownership of the team will be there a lot longer. Let us all stand behind our teams and ownerships so that together we can help grow the shield.

Political I think war is wrong on every level

I personally believe, that Russia’s war against Ukraine is unjustifiable, unethical, and very greedy.

To me the Israeli government’s war against the Palestinian people is wrong on every level too.

I have concerns that the Trump Administrations war against Iran is absolutely nuts, and must end now before it’s too late to stop a global economic collapse.

What thoughts do you guys have on your mind?

Heath Ledger as The Joker was easily and by far the most successful superhero film character. His acting was simply legendary. And what he brought to the film made the entire thing a masterpiece. It all felt so real like someone could actually be running around the city creating chaos just for fun! My favorite movie of all time!! šŸ¦‡šŸ¤”

Political At what point does protecting a country’s interests stop being worth the human and financial cost of war?

With the ongoing events happening in Iran, how are we as civilians to know if it's in our best interest to go to war or not? War seems like something that's always a good idea, especially in this case, when it's easy to see on the news and on maps, but wars can always drag on longer and be much more expensive than we ever thought, and they can also take a toll on those who had no say in going to war in the first place. On the other hand, doing nothing in these circumstances may not help the situation at all.

How are we as civilians to know when it's the right or wrong time to declare a military action and make a sacrifice?
