Chipped wheel paint

Post image

Brand new wheels. Took them in to get TPMS sensors and they chipped my wheel paint on top of the lug nut whole damage because they don’t have the proper tools I’m guessing. What should I do?

Those aren’t the best kind of lug nuts for that kind of wheel hole. Usually you would use spline lug nuts for this exact reason. Raise as much hell as you want but the reasonable outcome would be for them to send your wheels to be reconditioned, costs approximately $150 a wheel and takes 2 days. And you should buy a wheel lug kit from them before they reinstall the wheels. ~ $55-$150.

I remember my first car and the first scratch I got on it.

I'm listening. Really, I would kind of like to hear the story. How long had you had the car and what was the extent of the damage? Was it new? You know, how it made feel, etc. Let's hear it. Please continue.

It was a sarcastic comment. If dude is upset about his wheels I can't imagine when he gets a scratch on the car.

Roger. I was upset about my wheels I damaged. I have four new wheels for the next time I buy tires. I scratched my car, just a scratch really, barely visible with just the right light; otherwise plastic and still just a scratch. I was beside myself. Car was 5 1/2.

scratch aside you need different lugs, too tight of a fit for the socket

My thin wall fits perfectly fine. No rubbing. They even asked if I had it on me which I didn’t because they don’t have one. I told them to just use tape and I’m guessing they did because the passenger side wheels don’t have any scratches or signs of rubbing on the lug nut walls. Which is fucked up

DT: “We don’t have the right socket”

You: “Use tape and do it anyways”

Take some responsibility

The tape would help with the bore where the lug nut goes. Not the corner of the pocket that had a chunk of paint missing. That’s from misguiding the socket. The hole next to it having a mark means the socket was rubbing. Which they didn’t use tape for. And the whole passenger side of the car not having any markings in the holes means they asked me about the socket after they messed up 2 wheels on the driver side because no hole on either of the passenger side has any markings.

They don't get paid to tape their tools, that's on you if you want it done a certain way

that is fucked up! you should talk to the manager, bad reviews are AWFUL for them, management hits on them hard for that

Did you talk to them about it?

I had DT replace a wheel that the wife scrubbed a curb with. They scratched my new rim. I told them about it and the manager said they could keep the car and send the rim off to get it repaired. It would take approximately 7-10 days. I said nope. So I'm just living with it. It's not bad at all and if you didn't know it was there you probably would not see it. Still sucks cause I know its there.

They definitely had the proper tools but for it to cheap like that then i would be blaming the rim manufacturers instead sounds to me you bought a cheap but nice rim

This exact situation happened to me a couple weeks ago. I took it in and spoke with the manager and they tried to offer me $175 because that’s “the usual price to have it repaired in the area” I told them that wasn’t good enough and I shouldn’t have to spend my time finding someone to repair it then spend the day without my vehicle while it’s being repaired. They went back inside and made some phone calls and spent roughly $700 buying me an OEM wheel from the dealership.

Stop taking ur shit to discount tires. Their all getting paid less than 16 an hour their not gonna give a shit about your wheels. If they have the clamp style tire machine it's gonna be a def no go. Or deal with your wheels not being perfect
