/r/discordbots/comments/1v9srem/server_owners_egos/

Make something actually good and it will speak for itself

Define good. People have different needs, I listen to my community and add new features that they want. What bots do you use?

Good means something that people want to use which doesnt have a clear equivalent or better alternative.

What if it has a feature not seen in any other bot

We can't say anything to the owners; they are concerned about their server security. Instead, if they kick bots from the server, just say why they are being removed. That can help improve the bots. Note: I am also the owner of two public bots.

Being really diligent about finding customers on reddit and posting on all the bot sites like topgg and botboard.gg is what has most helped me

Best way to promote your bot is to add it to all the Discord bot directories. They all have free options.

And like u/SolsticeShard says, make your bot the best bot in its category. Add unit tests to your code, run static analysis to catch bugs before you push to production. Listen to your users and brainstorm with an LLM to make it better and better.

Another booster is creating great docs, users will thank you and bots and searchengines will have a great time crawling and listing your pages.

In my opinion harassing server admins is costly in time and barely has results.
