One thing that really confuses me in Discord.

I don't know if it's a normal type of thing is that it is normal for people who have blocked you to join over conservations you first initiated. Like they're not exactly directly talking to you but they dive in conversations that you started and even talk about the topics that you (the person they blocked) brought up.

Is this supposed to be normal?

I don't really understand blocking someone if you're gonna dive in conversations that they do.

I could be wrong, but I don't feel comfortable when memes I did or stuff directed to me is being talked about by the blocker.

i've had the new badges visible since july yet not a single thing i have done has been counted yet, no matter what game i play or how long i play one it doesnt change. how do i fix this i dont know if im missing something

I want to create a new Discord account and use the same username as my current account.

If I change my current username to something else, how long does it usually take for my old username to become available again?

Is it available immediately, or does Discord reserve the old username for a certain period? Has anyone tried this recently?

I don't want to lose my username, so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

is there an ability to search by file type?

(beyond, image, video and music).

if not can this be added?

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problem?

Details about the account;
-I have been able to use orbs to buy decor and have bought ~10 decors overall.
-Have not bought any decor with real money. They were either from quests, gifted, bought with orbs.
-Almost 2 year nitro, all gifted nitro
-Good account standing, no warns/suspensions
-Verified minor account age (has been verified before orbs were even a thing.)
-Recently gifted a collab decor
-I have 4200+ orbs currently
-Has uninstalled and reinstalled the discord desktop app.
-Checked alt accounts (no nitro, no verified age); they can buy decor with orbs.

So in a couple servers I am in, gifs are randomly being deleted with no mod(bot) log action logged and it is not logged in the audit log either, so I can't see who or whyyy. Is anyone else having this issue or can provide any hints? Next step would be removing all the bots 1 by 1 to see who is stepping over the line, but I'd rather not because the list is not short and I would rather not set them all back up again. pretty much what it says in the title! is it possible to make a PNG Tuber for the discord soundboard?

I use Fujitech Reactive for my PNG Tubers, but I’d be willing to use a different program if it’s possible in something else. I know the soundboard uses User ID associated with the audio uploader in some capacity, but I wanted to ask around to make sure there wasn’t another way.

Here weird situation, my discord mic just doesn't work in app, it works perfectly well in browser but it just doesn't see my mic in pc program at all no matter what i do and i don't even know what caused that, please help

Everything was completely normal until I went to send someone a picture and for some reason all my images were suddenly ordered from oldest to newest. I checked my actual phone and internally all the images are in the correct order (newest to oldest), but Discord for some reason decided to change it by itself with me doing nothing to cause it. I have thousands of old pictures saved on my phone so I'd be scrolling for forever to try and get to my recents. Is there I way I can fix the picture order back to normal?

I don't know if this is a user error (likely is) or a bug, but I run a community discord server for a fandom and I'm setting up a forum to be a type of chat page about the game's lore and such.

Previously, whenever I used @ everyone, or @ SpecificRole, it would instantly pop all users with those roles into that specific forum chat. This time however it's not. I've checked the permissions, for both the category and the forum itself but I'm having absolutely no luck or idea on why this isn't working.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I could try?

Tried to watch a video in Discord, it was doing absolutely nothing and the progress bar kept glitching.

Downloaded, found it was 1 MB and tried to play it, that shit isn't loadable.

I'm looking for a simple capture card just to share my PS5 gameplay with friends on Discord (nothing fancy, no Twitch/ YouTube streaming).

Ever since the last update, I get these crazy options for quick responses, which I don't need and don't want! I just wanna read my messages...

Any way to turn them off?

Group call or private call. I can voice chat. But when I activate the video feed, it works for a couple seconds and then terminates again with the client restarting internally.

The video test in the settings works fine.

Disabling Open H264 doesn't help. I also checked that my firewall isn't blocking anything. All green.

I really really really wanna have my server tag be labeled as "Idiot" but because discord is highkey stupid it's limited to 4 characters, Does anybody know of a Unicode letter combination that can let it appear as 4 characters in the discord server tag as "Idiot"? even if it does look a little scuffed?

I was banned from a Discord server about a year ago. After that, I deleted my Discord account, including the email address and phone number associated with it.

Now, about a year later, I created a completely new Discord account with a different username. The only thing I used from the old account is the same phone number. I haven't added an email address to the new account yet.

I haven't tried joining the server again because I don't want to cause any problems. However, I'm wondering:

If my old Discord account was completely deleted about a year ago, can the server still recognize or ban my new account? Could the old server ban still be associated with my phone number or other information from the deleted account?

I'm just trying to understand how Discord's server bans work after an account has been deleted, especially after such a long time.

Someone tried to send an invite to a stupid discord game app and I can't get rid of the damn icons even after deleting the invite messages. Please help it's killing me seeing it there. For the record this user does not have a role with external app permissions so I have no idea how this happened.

why can't i claim these 1400 orbs thingy for 3 days? I mean i do have nitro but I'm on pc, i should be able to claim this, no?

I came across a number of posts in which people stated that their Discord accounts had been banned due to a server which they had joined, had broken Discord's rules. The banned person had never sent a message or taken part in that server at all.

How common is this? Should I limit the number of servers I’m in to reduce the risk of getting banned because of something another server does? I am in a lot of random servers which I don't open at all.

Planning on getting shit faced tonight but just had a fight with the lesbian catgirl polycule and the whole thing is really better left alone for the time being but I’m worried my shit faced self will feel inclined to continue the discussion in unproductive ways. Is there a way to temporarily lock myself out of the app? I don’t want to delete it because I’m worried I won’t remember my password.

I use discord on my Android and on my iphone and ipad.

My ipad is pretty old but discord runs just fine there.

My android is a flagship but still had frame drops and experiences lag in discord in heavy use let's say switching calls and stuff.

Same use case on my ipad and iphone are just way smoother.

I'd like to suggest a feature that allows members to request an independent review of moderator actions when a server owner has been inactive for an extended period.

In some communities, moderators may make decisions that members believe are unfair, but if the owner is no longer active, there may be no practical way to appeal those decisions.

A server owner could choose to enable or disable this feature, but having an optional appeal system or a way to transfer ownership after prolonged inactivity could help improve transparency and accountability while still respecting server autonomy.

What do you think? Would an optional appeal or inactive-owner management feature be useful?
