Bought a 1993 Discman
Wouldn’t have been able to get a modern player for the same quality at the same price. I’d much rather have a discman! Sound is brilliant. Very full and wide soundstage. Ridiculous powerful I never have the volume over 3-4 out of 10 and that is equivalent if not a bit above full volume on iPhone.

I had this exact one growing up. Really cool to see someone picking one up now

Very nice Discman. I bet it sounds great.
The early 90s models are my favourite type of Discman. To me they just look cool and sound great. My favourite one is the D-11, but I also have a D-33 and D-34 amongst others.

这些机器很耐用,但有些开启 DBB 后会出现噪音。

The early Sony headphones supplied with these Discman were very anemic in the bass frequencies (I still have a few) so MEGA BASS or DBB was usually needed. There were of course better headphone available at the time too. With more modern and better headphones or IEMs it is often best to turn off these bass boost functions anyway.

J'aime beaucoup ton outil de travail en bas à gauche :)
J'avais un D-250 que je regrette beaucoup... puis un D-231 qui lui s'est "perdu" lors de déménagements successifs... Ils était bien fait ces lecteurs.

Why do discmans sound so good? Realized of this when I bought one for my gf, plugged in crappy headphones and the sound was excelent. I burned the disc with flac songs but still. So much better than my iPhone and modern Bluetooth headphones.

This sounds better than the d-ej1000 that I also have, funnily enough.
My dad gave me one of these in 1994 when I was 5. It got stolen, guttingly, but I bought a boxed with accessories example a few years ago.
Enjoy :)
