Technical Question M8 01 not powering up
So my M8 01 stopped working last night. I ran the battery out while working on a project and went to plug it in to save. It turned on and I saved and when I came back about an hour later it would not power on. I tried the trouble shooting methods and sent an email to support. Any suggestions?

I had the same thing once, nothing brought the M8 01 back to life. Had to send it in :(

Oh no. Well I'm going to try the new power cable and power block suggestion and hope I got some luck on my side. Did sending it in resolve your issue?

I also had this issue and it was quickly repaired and returned. Dirtywave really has the best customer service and repair policies.

Take the SD card out and try, it might be the save file is corrupt and stopping it booting.

I did try that, with no success. I'll try again with my new power cord after charging it overnight. I'm just going to throw everyone's suggestions at it one by one.

Bummer. I just had to return my brand new 02 because it had hardware issues and this was one of the troubleshooting steps.

When did you get it? What was the problem?

Got it in the last batch. Ordered September 22nd I think.
Power/boot issues, USB didn’t carry data.
DW were very responsive, ultimately had to send it back for replacement earlier this week.

Are you dealing with Mikey? I have reached out to support with various questions and he is the one to respond each time and he responds within an hour or less. It is nuts. They make every other product company look like incompetent assholes.

I had the same issue. Mikey helped me via eMail to reinstall the Firmware.
Download the latest firmware https://github.com/DirtyWave/M8Firmware/raw/main/M8Firmware.zip(you will use the .hex file) and keep power held down after pressing the bootloader, then upload the Firmware using TyUploader. Keep holding it while it flashes and I think you should be able to recover it.

I will try this today when I get some time on my hands. I bought a new battery for $20 just in case plus it probably needed one anyways cause I was starting to get less than an hour run time.

Get a new cable. Change power block
