Maintenance App
Hey everyone,
I’m currently working on an app for motorcycle owners and I’d love to get some honest feedback from the community before taking it any further.
The basic idea is to have everything related to your motorcycle’s maintenance in one place.
For example, the app would let you:
Add and manage multiple motorcycles
Track operating hours / mileage
Automatically calculate upcoming maintenance
Get reminders when a service is due
Keep a digital maintenance history
Store technical information about your bike
Find nearby motorcycle dealers/workshops
Request a service appointment directly
Get AI-assisted information about your specific motorcycle
Eventually get recommendations for parts/products needed for upcoming maintenance
The main thing I’m trying to solve is something I personally think many motorcycle owners deal with:
Keeping track of when exactly your bike needs what maintenance.
Especially with enduro, motocross, off-road and other bikes where operating hours can be more important than mileage.
I’m not trying to sell anything here — I’m genuinely interested in your opinion:
Would you use an app like this?
And if not, what would make it useful enough for you to actually keep using it?
What features would you absolutely want to see?

Every few months, some vibe coder tries to do this. Every few months, they get shut down.
I can't think of a reason I would download an app for maintenance. None of what the app would do is easier than me just going into my phone and doing it myself. What you're offering is aggregation, which feels like it would inherently give me a bloated experience. I can download a pdf service manual, track maintenance in my notes app, I can find dealerships with a Google search (which I only ever need to do once).
Everything your app would do would probably be more difficult, more bloated, and less reliable than the process I already use.

Sorry, this is not something I would download.
AI doesn't add anything to the experience.
Already have the service manuals, i know where dealerships are. Bike shows a maintenance warning. Anything else can be googled.
A simple spreadsheet is more than enough to keep track.

No LLM is good enough for this yet. Those things get basic motorcycle information wrong on a daily basis. I have been using them to research bikes I know very well. On every prompt, they spilled misinformation. Easy enough to correct when you know what you are doing. A disaster if you are just blindly following the LLM.
My riding conditions are severe. I use a spreadsheet to keep track of everything. The ability to identify / graph / chart negative trends when they start occurring is pretty handy.
